Good spottage!

I looked at this a bit closer tonight and it’s not a door. It’s an insect screen that you shine a bright light into in a forest, etc, and all the moths fly into it and get trapped for study. If you look close enough the wall behind it reaches all of the way down to the floor.

Thoigh that wasn’t a door there is very definitely a door leading out of the prehistoric mammals section of the fossils. I’m hoeing that the entrance stairway one day leads to something more than at present. It looks like it is made for a statue or similar, but I miss Brewsters, and somehow I’ve only just realised that the art gallery and Redd are missing! I know not all of our favourites are around (Pete!!) but the gallery was good collecty fun.

It’s really dark in there so I’ve lightened this photo considerably so you can see easier.

Also... the moulding around the left of the butterfly room is identical to the door moulding on the right as you enter. I think there are lots of points that seem ripe for museum expansion in the future if they decide to make changes via update which I hope upon hope that they do.

:o

Maybe maybe, then!

I really liked the open room museum in the DS (or was it Wii?) version where you could set up your own exhibition rooms and start a gaming museum, or museum of childhood... whatever you wanted.

Well there's those suspicious stairs upwards where Blathers is standing which I where I'd expect them to put a gallery. All the other nooks (fnar) and crannies might be for later insects, feesh etc. I still want more fruit types.

I think I'm still missing one of the current types (oranges maybe?). I'm just pootling along at a gentle pace though. Just paid off my first bridge and I've not expanded my house at all yet, but just dabbling in it a bit at a time. :)

Yeah, that’s what I meant by the entrance stairway. I think if they did add it I’d expect it to go there. Please please please.

Gah! I wish I’d seen this earlier, I’ve just sold all of my fruit!

sorry Ive been quiet, had a hard time but doing better now
hello shy vicky! I'm shy miki
devilman if you come and visit (others also) feel free to pick any fruit you see on my island. I don't usually pick them much so everything should be there
Although there is a misterious missing stamp spot on the nook miles achievement thingy??

I do love the egg thing, am even wearing a fetching egg head thing, but I wish it wouldn't coincide with the cherry blossom because I hardly have any of those recopies, but hey ho

I have met the bug dragon lady for the first time, I can't believe how much cash she pays in your screenshots!!!
I havent cought a spider yet and certainly havent tried the stripping etc but I might try it because of the money

Miki, for the missing stamp have you planted one of your own native fruit to grow a tree? The bug collector pays 1.5x Nook’s prices for all bugs. Ditto CJ and the fish xx

Thank you for sending the orange, Mimi. That's all the fruits planted now. :)

A productive morning so far.. entered the fishing tourney and finished my little maze off.

Yay! Russell suggested I made a maze the other day, too. I didn’t because I’ve just scattered my houses everywhere so have no space, though whilst clearing a cliff I didn’t want I managed to cut a maze into it, which was quite fun.

You’re more than welcome with the oranges. I must have just one tree that fruits out of sync with the rest, so the oranges were ripe for picking this morning on just that one tree. It must have known you were after some.

How are you all managing with the tournament? I’ve had a couple of goes and managed 9 fish on the second go after a stumbling seven on the first go.

You should turn the maze into one of the Pac-Man maxes and put bits of fruit in strategic places. And coins. :)

Tempting :) I will certainly be jazzing it up a bit more. I'd initially built it from the wooden fencing that you get given then ran out part-way through and realised I didn't have the recipe to make more to I had to pull it up and start again. :D

Only had a couple of attempts so far, but need to improve on my score of 7. At least I caught two fish that were new to the museum though.

Aaaaand done. So after 36ish prizes I'm still missing the Marine Pop Wallpaper. If anyone gets a spare of that I'd be grateful. (got it on one final lap around to soak up points to the next prize, woohoo!)

I have spares of:
Fish Print tee x2
Fishing Rod Stand
Fish Doorplate
Fish Pochette x2
Tackle Bag
Fish Drying Rack x2
Anchor Statue x3
Fish Umbrella x2

if anyone needs them by the end of the tourny. My gates are open and all the above are on the beach to the left when you exit the airport. I'm off doing something that isn't running around in a circle for 5 hours, so forgive me if I don't respond.

Fleurrrrgh. I'm all egged out. What a nightmarish challenge. I think I've got most of the recipes, but I'm sure I'm missing a couple. Oh well. I'm going to go eat some real life eggs to cheer myself up.

I do like how windy it is today on my island, very breezy-refreshing.

Ooh! I’ll have a look when I fire the Switch up later!

I had a few hours of the fishing. Next time I’ll get some bait together before it starts. I am actually slightly confused as to what the tournament is. Are you competing against your islanders as to who gets the most in 3 mins, or is it just the accumulative total? I think I had about 12 goes, so got my 100 points. I caught 9 fish on most attempts but did manage an 11 fish for 13 points on my final try.

I think I ended up with one of each prize, with no doubles at all, so it’s a shame they skipped your wallpaper, Dimmers :(

My favourite is the fish print (the poster). I really wish I could get a second of those as there are two fish to customise into them that I’d love to display on my wall (Coelacanth and squid) but I think I’m all fished out. I genuinely fell asleep (just micro sleeps) a couple of times whilst doing the tournament as I fish with my eyes closed and I am a super tired Bean.

Roh?

Does anyone here have more than two shops? Or is she telling me to step my game up and spend bells to upgrade Nook’s Cranny?

I had to keep talking to her to get to say it again as I didn’t think to screenshot it the first time.

I'm guessing we're going to get Brewster at some point. Maybe even the barbers like in New Leaf? I've had Kicks appear a couple of times on my island so maybe he moves in too.

Gates are open again for the above fish tourny rewards. Plus as all my fossils were duplicates today:

Iguanadon Tail
Deinony Tail
Brachio Tail
Pachysaurus Skull

recipes for:
Basket Pack
Cool Hyacinth Wreath
Bunny Day Lamp
Hedge Standee

and a couple of BLOODY EGGS

Again, i'm only half paying attention so feel free to help yourselves. They're on the beach to the left of the airport.

I got a bunny day wall recipe should you need it.

These three 'special' hidden Bunny Day only recipes, are they like regular recipe drops or are they something more torturous that malovelent Zipper the Evil Bunny has dreamt up?

If you've managed to snag all the ones in the list I put up earlier in the thread, he'll spit out one. Build all the recipes and he'll spit out another. Build that and you'll get the final recipe.

I spent a nice 2 minutes at Metal Angel's island earlier with us both beating Zipper over the head with our nets.

It is done. The weight of eggs, the burden, I can finally put it down. I can finally rest.

That's a splendid idea, Dimmers. I have stripped off my stupid eggy clothes and am now off to whack about with a net the most evil Bunny since Toonstruck's Fluffy Bun-Bun.

Zipper > Dolores Umbridge?

At the risk of reinforcing the impression of a gated community, I'm going to make a No-Bunnies sign.

Pete I also LOVE the breeze, also in real life big fan of wind, even storm

I forgot who all explained it to me but your explanation of getting the wasps with the net has totally saved me many times now!

I also did the tourney, but not at all as much as you guys, I think I had about 5 goes but 3 was my max and I kept getting eggs and Katie says I need to learn to run
I did get a nice blue fish carpet which is now in my bedroom

I am now saving fishes for CJ and bugs for Flick but I hope they show up soon because they are almost forming their own mountain now

I'm way not as efficient as you all but I am still loving the game and very proud I will have my second ramp tomorrow :)

I am NOT by any means efficient (demonstrable by the fact I’ve played over 200 hours now and am nowhere near as advanced in the game as a lot of people), but I love just moseying around my town finding bits of furniture for my residents, knocking things fish and then paying extortionate sums to move them one step to the right).

Crafting bait really helped with the fishing challenge, but in the end it didn’t seem to matter if I caught 20 fish in 3 minutes or two lots of five fish over two 3 min periods.

Something potentially valuable I've just learnded(ed): the Nook Miles Island with all the flower mutants on can only spawn large fish. Just caught 3 coealallananacatntnhtths, 4 blue marlin and 2 tuna there. Would've been nice to know when I was Stringfish huntin.

I just spent 50,000 moving a resident and making him a yard with a deck and a fence and table, hot cup of coffee and a book, hot tub... and he’s told me he’s moving. And I didn’t seem to have the option to ask him not to.

So, when he goes does his house just disappear, or is it left behind for a new resident? Grr...

Odd, I had the option of telling my Sodding Hippo to stay. I didn't, natch. His house reverted to the plot holder that Nook gives you to mark out land.

Ah, ok. I assume that someone then moves into that same plot. His bixes are already packed and Isabelle said he’s going tomorrow. There’s a chance I half-sleepingly said I’m to him moving and didn’t notice, but I’d be surprised if that were the case. Darwin hasn’t played without me, so it’s not him either. Poop.

His plot will stay the same, so someone else will enjoy that hot tub!
Also they don't move in automatically, you have to find a new friend on a miles island or in the campsite.

Yeah, I knew I’d have to scout for the new resident, but I’d styled his outdoor area to suit the style of his dark wooden house :DD. Can’t just gave someone rock up in a pink thatched cottage and leave it that way. You let me down, Sly!
