Personally I'm not panicking specifically about food shortages (apart from general panic about Brexit anyway), but it's probably worth preparing for prices of some things to go up rather a lot. I just bought this, out of interest. It's a bit "argh the apocalypse is coming" IMO but there's some reasonable advice - mostly common sense though tbh. |

It'll be worse than we think, but not as bad as we expect. I've probably got a couple of weeks of food in the freezer and cupboards, might get a few more tins in. |

Wow, UPS's's's are expensive! To be honest, I'd be surprised if we get significant power outages - a No Deal will be a fuck up, but I really don't think it'll come to that. |

I'm finally getting a bit worried so bought an unnecessary amount of tinned tomatoes, tomato paste, spaghetti, flour, sugar and yeast today. I only went out for diet coke and beer but at least we're good for simple pasta meals and bread for a good while - Helen picked up tomatoes and pasta the other week too and there's plenty of sugar already for feeding the bees in the winter that didn't happen. |

I don't think I'm going to start restocking just yet (haven't really made a dent in the spring haul) but might see how things are looking in mid-August. Neither of the Tory leadership candidates are currently demonstrating signs of reasonableness on this matter, and the timeframe for Parliament to intervene is very tight. Perhaps it'll become a biannual tradition, like adjusting the clocks. |

How the hell does a developed country get itself into a situation where it would deliberately destroy its own food supply? That would be a bad enough rhetorical question at the best of times, but during the global pandemic?! After a slight dip during the first couple of weeks of panic buying in the spring I have been replenishing my stocks over the year and this time only getting things I actually like. It's still ludicrous however. |

There's enough food in the supply chain to keep the stores stocked for a while but I wouldn't be surprised to see gaps start to appear in the back half of January. I've got a couple of extra meals worth of tinned stuff but that's about it. |
