Worst Games I Played 2019 Golf Story (Switch) - too fucking long Ashen (Xbox) - too fucking broken Hellblade: Sensua’s Sacrifice (Xbox) - too fucking boring My Friend Pedro (Switch) - too fucking repetitive Metro: Exodus (Xbox) - too fucking boring Ghost Recon: Breakpoint (PS4) - too fucking broken Sonic Mania (PS4) - too fucking Sonic Untitled Goose Game (Xbox) - too fucking overrated Donut County (Switch) - too fucking shit Gears 5 (Xbox) - too fucking boring so fucking boring What Remains of Edith Finch (Xbox) - too fucking ’sort your frame rate out you pissflaps’ Best Games of 2019 Gonner: Blueberry Edition (Xbox) - This roguelike platformer had me gnashing my teeth but it also kept me wanting to come back and beat it till it turned into wine. Brilliant stuff. Final Station (Xbox) - Resident Evil in 2D. On a train. In pixel art. Great atmosphere. Death Stranding (PS4) - 80% brilliant. 20% shit ending cut scene. Walking has never been so fun. Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country (Switch) & Dragons Quest XI: Echos of an Elusive Age (PS4) & Octopath Traveller (Switch) Fantastic JRPGs. Super enjoyable, not too difficult, and some great characters. Astro Bot: Rescue Mission (PSVR) - Unbelievably good VR game. Out-fucking-standing. Detroit: Become Human (PS4) - RoboTits Guacamelee 2 (PS4) - piss hard platformer gets great sequel Ape Out (Switch) - Outstanding indie game that deserves to be played. That last level was terrific and remains memorable. Resident Evil 2 (PS4) - Resi 4 but 2 and polished to a fine sheen. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (PS4) - a small misstep by FROM Soft that still ended up one of the best games of the year. Hard AF. The Messenger (PS4) - Castlevania that was absolutely glorious. The 8-bit/16-bit pixel effect was pretty inspired. Split/Second (Xbox) - The only driving game that I actually wanted to play. Amazing stuff. Steamworld Dig 2 (Xbox) - Underrated Mr Digger game that’s filled with personality. Moonlighter (Xbox) - I’d never heard of this but then I couldn’t put it down. Super hard dungeon crawler ... with a shop mechanic. For some reason. Katana Zero (Switch) - Indie platformer that’s a bit of lots of games. The visuals are psychedelic and soundtrack is banging.
