Some folks at work have played werewolf/mafia, they were chatting and and explaining the concept to people who had never heard of it, they all thought it may be a fun thing to do at work over slack. I agreed... and offered to run a game for everyone.

:D This should prove amusing...

As an aside, Iooking back at that game that would have worked a lot better with no lists, but everyone knowing their own number to start with.

We should do it again... do we have enough people to make it work these days?

A dozen active and engaged players really. Might be a tall ask these days! :D

I'm starting my place off with a pretty standard game, mafia, townies, town cop, town doc, serial killer.
I'm predicting an absolute shit show :D

I was ahead of the curve, as usual.

Guardian:
The rise of British Ice Hockey

Shame the article only focuses on the Elite league and not the far more exciting world of NIHL2 South.

While this is a terrible story of an execution of women and children in Cameroon, it's amazing that the Beeb were able to discover the date and location that it took place from a couple of minutes of mobile phone footage.

Can I be one of "those" people and draw your attention to a wee crowdfunding campaign for just a minute?

There's a local boy called Zac who should have been starting reception year at my kid's school this month, but unfortunately he was diagnosed with an incredibly rare form of leukaemia in May and his chemo isn't working. Zac needs to go to the States to receive an experimental (but working) treatment in Philadelphia. The whole of Broseley (my backwater town) and indeed huge swathes of Shropshire are wearing red to raise awareness and money for Zac's cause today & asking for people to donate as little as £1 towards his fight.

If you've got a second to spare and a pound or two to give, can you pop over to https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/zac-oliver or text ZACH75 £1 to 70070 (or £2, £5 etc etc)

Thank you :luv:

Just booked two tickets to see Perturbator in March.

We're doing some "Host Family" thing for international students for the local fancy-pants boarding school, and we have our first assignment this weekend. Two 16 year old girls from China. I'm cacking myself! What do young people like? Will they just sit in their rooms playing Minecraft or will I have to speak to them? What if they ask me to help with their homework or to give them advice on boys!? ARRRRHHSGDGHASDcv .xzxcvh.....!!!@4one!!

Take them to a Clarks shoe shop. The Chinese are mad about Clarks shoes.

ooh, let us know how it goes. We've been idly sizing up the idea in Brighton where there seem to be millions of international students from China.

But I suspect they won't be wanting to spending any more time in your company than you feel comfortable in theirs. They probably just want a room to chill out and do teenage things in.

It all went pretty smoothly so far - we signed up, some people came and gave us the talk, handed over some docs and took some details. We had to fill out an ECR(?) check form online. We haven't got the fanciest house, but they seemed very happy with it. I will report back on Monday!

I'm half hoping to just chuck the wifi password at them and let them get on with it, culturally enriching experiences be damned.

I can't link the exact post, but...

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018 ... e=comments

Titler: "Exactly; indeed it used to be a core feminist complaint that rock-hard, non-jiggling plastic surgery breast implants were the ultimate expression of sexism... REAL women move, and age, and sag! Stop objectifying women by demanding they have porn star bodies!

Now we have to be outraged about the opposite, that women's bodies in computer games are realistic and show movement, because it might somehow titillate someone out there."

(massively downvoted) Bamba:" Fucking hell, you ridiculous drama queens. No one's saying you have to be "outraged". No one's even saying it's a "problem". It was a technical mistake of some kind that doesn't jibe with the image Epic want for their game so they decided to remove it; as is their prerogative. Y'all are the ones going on about how "society is well fucked" etc. Maybe take your outrage about the 'outrage' down a notch? Twats."
