The binbag I need to put out for collection tomorrow has at least 5 mice and one very very large rat in it.

I did, yes. I can't remember how much I got paid exactly but I remember thinking that it was very generous.

I even did some over time. They didn't need me for a few hours in the afternoon but rather than me go home or hang around in the canteen, but they offered to pay me for just hanging around in the background of a few more shots.

Oh, that’s super to know that you were well treated. You seemed a natural. Have you never thought about maybe doing a bit of stage acting? You’ve got a strong voice. Even just a bit of an-dram or seasonal panto?

Honestly, you should absolutely do it. There’s nothing like the buzz of the stage, and you are just kind of made for it. And how old are your kids? Can you imagine their faces at seeing daddy up there. You really should. It’s such good fun and Panto is the most fun of all (signed, former Cinderella (twice), and former Peter Pan).

My proudest moment was kicking a mouse into a trap.

(Obviously I'm not proud about killing another animal, but the kick was a thing of beauty.)

You know what, I've always wanted to do a panto or something like that. It's just a matter of actually doing it isn't it? There's a local group that meet near here but they meet on a Monday which is Sea of Thieves night on the Xbox so you know, there's a problem.

I came really close to applying for the panto which is run at the local school a couple of years back. Maybe I should actually do that? It does seem fun.

A couple of times I’ve seen a film or program that is set around a teacher who has a favoured set of students at a boys school, and he has a tradition where he invited them over to listen to ghost stories near Christmas (perhaps Christmas Eve?)

I cannot remember a single other thing about it. Could be five years old, could be fifty. Could be a drama, horror, comedy. No idea. TV show, film...

Any ideas? I thought if it this morning and just can’t remember what it is.

Ok, I think it might be based on M R James, as you say, but I don’t think it was that documentary in particular as in my mind the boys walk through snow to attend this story telling at the teacher’s lodgings in the school grounds. And I don’t think they had the clips of the monsters and ghosts, but in essence of the scene it is very similar.

Also, I was convinced it was Christmas for some reason.

@Dimrill I think it might be As Ghost Story For Christmas. I’ve been searching and there was an original annual run in the 70s/80s but they started making them again in 2005 and shown on BBC4. The one this year is written by Mark Gatiss (and he seems to have been heavily involved in previous ones) and this year starring Peter Capaldi. Most are based on M R James stories. Would not have found the trail without your reply, so thank you xxx
