Just seen someone who is 75 next year proudly announce to Facebook that they are boycotting the BBC today AND the 21st because they’re withdrawing blanket free licences for the 75+ and people who have worked all their lives DESERVE THEM. He’s encouraging others to do what he is doing today and will be sitting to watch quality TV on Sky, and showing the BBC by only watching their competitors today.

Google Home recently got the ability, if you have smart bulbs in your bedroom, to gradually fade them up to maximum brightness over 30 minutes before the alarm goes off. This is a very good feature. I rarely need the alarm now, instead I get a much more gentle wake up from the light.

We achieve the same effect by investing in really bad blinds, which means my bedroom is flooded with daylight well before my alarm goes off.

Sadly, I think these attitudes and willingness to spread rumours or not pause for a moment's thought have been around for as long as the pub bore has, but it's far more visible these days. I just think that anyone who can't see that Mr Johnson or Mr Trump are utter charlatans by now are far beyond hope and it's hard to find a way to explain why them hardening their attitudes..
