As long as you have a joystick on your typewriter then a lot of emulators are really simple to setup - if i have some time later I'll see if i can do a single file to download the same way i did for the mame stuff in the past

The alternative is get a Snes Mini and get someone to update the games - its an easy process but the Mini seems to be getting hard to find now

I’ve got me a SNES Mini, bay-beeeee.

I remember the last time tried to play MAME with the joypad: didn’t work on my version or some shit, then I downloaded the new version tried to put the games from the old version into the new version, didn’t work, and then had an asphyxiwank to calm down before I put my fist through the window of my PC.

MAME is a lot harder to setup than a lot of other systems - generally because the ROMS get updated - so what was a perfectly working rom for years suddenly stops working on the next version because it wants an extra file or another file with a subtle change

MAME is fine if you have a version and roms and stick to it but nothing else.

SNES is generally much easier to setup (its one system) and the roms can be slightly different for regions but a rom that worked on the last version will still work on a newer version of the emulator

I think it'll be a good game in a few months, once they fix it.

Two stories on the same thing - short version :

https://news.berkeley.edu/2019/03/29/66 ... teor/?T=AU

Long read :

https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019 ... saurs-died

Basically Paleontologists may have discovered the fossilized remains of creatures that died very closed to the time the dinosaur killing meteor hit the earth

I’ve been reading a lot about this story this past week. Incredibly exciting find and research, isn’t it?!

Not convinced. It sounds like it has a long, long way to go; and that article is damning about Bioware's internal management (and, by extension, their ability to "fix" it.) The problems aren't bugs, the problem is poor design. Poor design is difficult to patch away.

The Retro Freak I have certainly makes life easier on that front. It's essentially just a boxed up set of emulators, but not only does it read from the original cartridges, but you can install them onto a memory card inside the console as the crappy photo shows -

Sat on a table at Wagamama across from a group of game developers from Dambuster Studios formerly known as Crytek UK formerly known as Free Radical Design!

I had a job interview with them once. I didn’t get it.

Well, its a sort of conversation between you and a prospective employer where they work out if they like the cut of your jib within 5 seconds of meeting them.

That’ll be why I didn’t get it. I’m eminently unlikeable at first and things sort of go downhill from there.

It's that they don't want to work with young Gerry Adams.

Unfortunately it has become synonymous with “disagreeing” these days. Usually coopted by the alt-right who don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.

Yep, you should have a £6 store credit now, assuming it tracked ok.

So, after being out all day yesterday I came home to an emptyish fridge and, not being keen on having yet another bachelor pizza from the stash in my freezer I decided to go to a hipster 'lounge' in town for sustenance. It's a reasonable place, and certainly the next step up from the 'Spoons. I probably shouldn't enjoy the socialist realist paintings they have around the place, but Lenin's the only guy in history to really pull off a goatee so, yeah, mixed feelings.

Out of curiosity, I went for the 'Beyond meat' vegan burger as I was intrigued to find out how it compared to their normal, proper, cow-based ones. I'm not on Instagram, so you don't get to see what it looked like, but presentation wise it looked like a normal one, although the patty was more of a dark copper colour than beefy-brown. Biting into it (no burger collapse - bonus point) I found the texture to be pretty good, but I really noticed the lack of juices in it so it tasted a bit dry. I rather like eating over chips so they get a splattering of the excess, so that additional pleasure was denied me.

Worth trying, but not going to go vegan or veggie just yet.

Is it a 'Rev's' by any chance?
