At the risk of being accused of trolling, this story doesn't seem plausible to me. It smacks of attention seeking. Why does everyone nowadays feel the need to share the details of there lives with all and sundry?

If it is a true account of what happened then my sympathy is with you. That kid was awful but TBH I think you should have alerted such behaviour to the authorities because if he is doing it to you he will go on to do it to others.

Not going into specifics (probably lieing), but the twitter bandwagon does more harm than good, I think. I'm fairly sure I've written of this before, but new examples have come to light. I think the poltiics of twitter's users lies to the left (maybe demographics, I dunno, more research needed). Sometimes, I think the abdwaggoning of things on it are ugly and downright rude. By and large, I don't think that someone should be berated for their support of the GOP or the stupid party, not by baying hrose through 140 characters. It's inelegant. And stuff.

I guess mate, but to me it just seems like a forum for people with too much time on their hands to shout angrily at each other, either that, and/or else spout the most banal stuff about the last sandwich they just ate or whatever? Is there a way to block someone retweeting stuff which fills your timeline? I'm following a guy from work and he keeps retweeting mundane shit that I'd rather not read.

Stuff like "watching Cheryl cole. God she's got nice eyes" or "if she's too tight with your mates.. DROP HER OUT" or even "traffic wardens cant (sic) go to heaven its impossible"

In Twitter click on the name of the offender and this will bring up the window with their last 3 tweets. Next to the Following text there is a little 'down arrow' click on that and there is an option to "Turn Off Retweets". See if that works.

I wonder if that is in any way related to that Lords vote on removing 'insulting' from the Public Order Act.
