Who the hell is Matt?

Also: it did make me smile, for a while. I have no idea who this is, but the dedication is nice.

And Honda just sling people out of planes when they want to make an advert.

Lazy bastards.

It still makes me smile, because he seems utterly harmless, and even makes the people around him smile. I'd love to visit all of those places. I would even perhaps dance like an idiot at some of them.

It's not an advert, you old cynic. A company just paid for him to do it, that's all.

You're all horribly ignorant, y'know. I spot the same topic on WoStalin with the same BUT ITS AN ADVERT crap attached to it.

The actual story goes is that Matt Harding, a fair old while ago (2004/05ish I believe) was working as a games developer, saved up some cash, quit his job and went on a trip aimed at visiting as many places as possible. He then did a (shorter) video that showed him dancing in a variety of locations. It became somewhat viral, and Stride Gum picked up on it, and then offered him to do it again, except this time they'd sponsor him to do it, so he did.

The original idea was his, he paid for the original trip. The guy remains a complete dude. There are (or were) a load of explanatory videos on his youtube channel that I watched some time ago that explain all that. I'm recalling from memory so the odd fact might be wrong, but that's basically how it went down.

The original 2006 video has an interesting story behind the voice sample, and he made another video about that, which was even more interesting. Have a read around about this chap, he's very interesting.

I didn't know about Stride gum before this video - now I do. Therefore as an advert it's worked only I can't buy any round here so HA - FOILED AGAIN ADVERTISER MAN.

Also I think most people have read the about page on his website and aren't actually "horribly ignorant" - just cynical perhaps?

I have no idea what Stride Gum is, nor who Matt Harding is, but that made me smile a lot, so much I felt a bit emotional for reasons I do not know. People are awesome.

I would now like to go and dance with all of the people in the world.
