No mention of its VR mode in that review at all. Weird.

I've played about 12 hours. It is nice.

Not tried the vr mode yet. Not such a fan of KBAM vr, but will give it a try.

Ok. Tried VR mode with a new game.

Thoughts:
#1: It's really, really pretty, So very real.
#2 But (and it's a big butt) the game just isn't as easily playable in this mode.
- Cant use KBAM at all.because you need the mouse to select things, and you can't see the cursor. Daft. May be sorted now I've been able to get into the menus via a pad, but I think the optionti look select was in the pad settings.
- Using a controller is better. But no obvious means to reset camera. This is a problem when the initial calibration isn't correct.
- The hud is daft. Locked to your view point, including hands. Turn to look at what's in your hands, and it moves away from you. I don't know how you'd solve this without the tracked controllers, mind, but still... offputting when you're not used to it.
- But even worse is when your character holds something up to look at. the pda is held so close I can't always focus on it. similarly when you're scanning yourself wth the hand held scanner, I put my virtal arm actually through my face unexpectedly... urgh.
-#3 a portion of theintroduction where you do some initial recovery didn't happen. Whether this was because of vr, or because of it being a second game, I don't know.

So yeah, I look forward to exploring the world in vr - probably ni creative, but can't imagine actually playing the game in that mode.

As Sub Zero is coming out of early access this month and the game's 95% complete (total guess), I thought I'd give it a good old play right up the bracket. The story's changed significantly since the early days! Everything looks so much nicer and interesting and sharky. Luvloi.
