Unlike PS+, if your subscription is wholly for the purpose of the included games, I just struggle to see how it can be regarded as free.

This quarter’s water is free, included with my Severn Trent subscription.

Let’s be fair, it was just a flippant remark. Lots of people refer to PS+’s “free games” but they aren’t “free” either.

But you can argue that they are free, if you subscribe for online gaming, cloud saves, etc.

I mean, you’re still wrong, but I accept it as an argument.

I just assumed folks would know what I was getting at being as we all know about the humble monthly and how it works, without the need to pick up on a mistyped term.

But... like I said, I forgot I was on beex, where it is more important to be 100% empirically correct, than it is to let things slide :D

I’m not sure everyone would necessarily know the difference between a free game and a not free game if you say it’s free.

Especially as they do provide actual free games. You’re just being confusing.

I forget this is Beex, where people can’t admit their initial post is somewhat misleading and be gracious when some much-needed clarity is provided

Shitballs. I picked up Assassin's Creed Unity when it was temporarily free (see my post on the previous page of the thread) and last night I finally went to install it...only to find no trace of it at all in my uPlay account. I never got any email or anything confirming it at the time either but I'm totally 100% convinced I went through the process to get it because I really wanted to play it. Either I'm an idiot/hallucinating/both or something went wrong with the process and I just didn't bother to check. Fuck sake.

It seemed like a bit of a clusterfuck when people were trying to add it to their accounts at the time. Lots of people saying the store page didn’t work and had to try different links etc.

I remember it not working for me and later realising it was possibly because I already had it. :D

I mean, I appreciate it's probably a very good version of that type of game and all, but crafting and resource management has never been my bag so it was always unlikely to work for me personally. For the hour or two I played it I just always felt like I was aimlessly floating around looking for the resources I needed which just wasn't satisfying.

Maybe it's just me, but i tend to regard the money given to humble bundle as charity. whatever else comes my way is just a bonus.

Which might explain why i have no idea what games I've received for the last 3 months or so. I should probably look.

I agree with the bundles (but that’s mainly because I put them as 100% to charity), but the monthly sub, not so much.

You drive along a procedurally generated road and look for boxes. When you find a box you open it and put the things inside in your car. Then you sell them at the next town in order to buy spare tires as yours pop every other trip. Oh, and you hope that the old man you're couriering around doesn't bug out and stay in the car all night which means nothing will happen once you reach Turkey.
