I'm confused about your 2 minutes silence being at the office

In NL it's on may 4th at 20.00 so most people are in their own home and can hold the 2 mins silence any way they want, though there are 2 special ceremonies that are broadcasted on tv so we usually choose either the Dam in Amsterdam or the Waalsdorpervlakte.
I was once having dinner and the restaurant announced it and cut the music for the 2 mins, some ppl didnt care or didnt know what was going on but most people halted conversation.
There are also always many people that pull over on the motorway for the 2 mins, and many who do not.

I'm so glad we don't have a symbol to buy/wear etc
except of course masses of orange crap the next day as 4/5 is rememberance/liberation so the 5th has loads of bands/music/alcohol/orange

I love David Squires (football cartoonist at The Guardian), and this piece from 2015 remains awesome.

He is brilliant, as is that, which I'd somehow missed.

Every time I see those absurd comparisons and poppy cult stuff, I immediately think, “Never even done a war” :DD
