I honestly haven't noticed anything wrong, although I guess this might just be because it's a very easy game. Finding yourself out of cover, even for a while doesn't usually get you killed. If I was dying all the time and having to replay bits too often then perhaps I might have got annoyed by something.

I found them a bit slow at first, but then I always wind the acceleration way up on my games anyway.

Maybe try that? And reduce the dead zone, too.

Or just stop playing it.

Well the video's been live for less than two days and it's had 100,000 views already, so people clearly are watching them.

I know you're tremendously sniffy and superior when it comes to a lot of YouTube content, and of course there's an astonishing amount of horseshit on the platform. However, many of the content creators take an awful lot of time over their videos and produce them to a very high standard, and SkillUp is one such creator.

The vast majority of my watching time is spent on YouTube, far outstripping Netflix, iPlayer and Amazon Prime combined.

For example, where else am I going to find really detailed and in-depth commentary on the upcoming WoW Classic release and the recent beta of it? It's the kind of thing that is completely ignored by 'traditional' video media outlets, but YouTube has me covered.

11 ms isn’t high lag. It’s less than one frame. GTA IV had 125 ms, that was high lag.

I don't think it's just the raw input lag (which in fairness isn't too bad), the problem as I understand it is that you have to wait for animations to finish or transition, and that can give things a syrupy feel.

TBH it comes across to me just watching the gameplay videos.

And me. And I’ve tried that but there doesn’t seem to be that sweet spot that makes it enjoyable to shoot without just using the auto-aim. It doesn’t make running about and using cover any better.

I watch videos about games I'm interested in, want to play, or have played. RDR2 interests me, hence I enjoy watching videos about it and I find the discussion around it engaging. (I've watched a fuckton of Destiny 2 videos but haven't played the game, as I find the journey its gone on fascinating. For WoW Classic I didn't have access to the beta and the game itself isn't released until next year, and I don't even know if I'll play it yet either, but there are loads of fantastic videos being made about it.)

I respect SkillUp as a diligent reviewer and as such shared a link to his review video here, which people are free to watch, or not watch, as they see fit.

For example, I watched all of this guy's videos discussing each of the classes from Classic WoW in tremendous nerdy detail, which as I've said, is a game I may very well never end up playing. The Mage video is nearly 40 minutes long and has an extensive section covering AoE grinding mechanics. There's nothing on Netflix about this.

I'm happy to watch a half-hour Shut up & Sit Down review of a board game I'm never going to play (either due to complexity, number of people, or fucking orcs) as it's entertainment and I like their style. Just as we all read Amiga Power back in the day.

I can't be doing with long videos. It doesn't matter what the subject is or how good the presenter is, I'd rather people just get to the point. That being said, it's no hardship for me to scroll past a video in a post either. :)

I'm not knocking YouTube videos, I watch a lot of them myself. I'm knocking Hearthly's practice of finding hours-long videos that happen to agree with his biases, dropping it into a thread here with one line of commentary, then sashaying away making jazz hands like he just won the argument and we're all fools for daring to disagree with Johnny YouTuber. And no-one ever refutes the points he thinks he's scoring via the video because (I suspect) basically no-one is watching it.

The wheel gives you typically tonics, tobacco and other non-food items. For the others you need to go to your satchel

Gotta say, Rockstar nailed the music with this. I was doing one of those missions where you ride somewhere, nick something and get chased and the music was sooo sweet.

It starts off with this plinky plonky tune on the journey over to the hot zone but when shit kicks off this western guitar/banjo thang gets added into the rhythm and it’s full pelt as you’re being chased by upset cow folk. It was fucking glorious.

Less glorious is some of the mission structures. Ride half way across the map, nick something else, park it another quarter of the map away and finish the mission. Ok, to set off the rest of the mission it’s back to camp 3/4 of the map away, speak to the mission character and ride 3/4 of the map back to where you left the thing. Just ridiculous time wasting bullshit. I didn’t even have any alternative missions nearby or anything to do so I was basically hammering A A A A A A A A A A A A to race home (because that’s back again) for 5 solid minutes travelling back and forth across the length of the map. I could always have not been hammering A and got there in half the time but the time wasting is annoying.

Plus my first horse died earlier and left me in the wilderness. That was remarkably upsetting. I couldn’t revive Bilbo at all. He was just all fucked up from rolling down a steep hill. I was proper pissed at my incompetence.

Some good things: I like a lot of the missions.

There is some really great comedy in there. "Lenny!?" Meeting the Klansmen.

I genuinely like several members of the gang. Though one of them is blatantly going to be a bad guy by the end.

When it feels good, it feels really good.

At the moment it doesn't seem to have fallen into "do a bunch of jobs for a bunch of unlikeable tossers, because.' like the first one did.
