I'm in California and I just booked flights for my next trip to California (May) and next week I'll probably book more for June

RIP my sleep patterns (but hurrah for my frequent flier account)

I'm finding it amusing this morning that the Jeep boss is called Mike Manley.

There’s a joke in there about marrying an American, having them relocate to the UK, and then spending half your time flying to the States without them...

Or equally, don't change it but make a point of highlighting how and why it's a problem.

All of the above.

Just have a woman tell Bond to fuck off.

It would be incredible, I would absolutely love to see this; especially if they just kept all the same tropes. Watching idiots tie themselves in knots to explain, say, why it was somehow bad that FemBond shagged and discarded hot guys but it was okay when ManBond did it would be more entertaining than the film itself could ever be.

A friend of mine has her citizenship ceremony today. Despite often joking about it, I couldn't quite bring myself to go into one of Oxford's many gift shops to buy a St George's Flag, a picture of Will 'n' Kate, and today's 'Sun'. I went to the bookshop and picked up a copy of '1066 and All That' instead. Far better consolidation of our history than that offered by the citizenship test.

Still tempted to go to the dodgy fake Wetherspoon's across the road, however.

I've just heard that from the Autumn the tradition of sharing a cabin with a stranger on the Caledonian Sleeper will end. Well, that's priced out getting to the Highlands easily by rail for me, and probably many other single travellers. I've never had an issue with sharing as it's nowhere near as bad as an eight-room dorm in a youth hostel, and getting to know a stranger is part of the fun of the journey. Admittedly, last time I took it, I did overhear my cabinmate say on his phone that I 'didn't look like a maniac', so perhaps he had had poor experiences in the past.

Scotsman: Caledonian Sleeper postpones ban on strangers cabin-sharing

The Lovely Mrs Squirt sent me a single text message on Saturday saying "Will you come to the Hornet Gathering?" which sounded like either the least fun rural tradition ever, or some sort of terrifying black magic ritual. Actually, it was just an auto-correct of the Godney Gathering, a small music festival in Somerset. I'm actually a little disappointed.

Anyone used Amazon Pantry? How does it compare with other online shopping options?

I'm thinking about filling a box with all the tedious cleaning stuff I always run out of and never remember to pick up when I go shopping.
