I imagine hotel staff are pretty used to this sort of thing. Other guests, maybe not.

There must be days worth of CCTV footage of hotel guests sneaking down to reception in the nip.

*googles*

I hope Bamba just brazened it out, confidently striding into the foyer.

Yeah, the lesson learned here is to always pack sleepwear of some kind. I've done exactly this before years ago but was wearing pyjamas so it was nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

Also important in case the fire alarm goes off.

You've stuff in the room to come down in though.

Two shortbread wrappers and a Gideon bible.

Brilliant, Bamba. Exactly the same happened to a friend* of mine, but he realised that before he could go downstairs he really really had to go. Pot plant, thank you. I like to imagine the footage still exists, its owner watching the friend's career for signs of wealth.

*No, really.

I love the Prince Charles theatre. I can't see them doing anything about Bill and Ted on their website, but that looks to be a photo from last year (going by the posters).

What they are doing, however, is showing English dubs of Studio Ghibli films every Saturday. So, you know, in. Craster can come and go to sleep again.

I would be there in a heartbeat for that if I didn’t live over 100 miles away. Or they were showing Tales from Earthside.

Irritatingly, one of the only dates I can do is for Grave of the Fireflies.

Fuck.

Had a couple of 72-Pin Connectors arrive today that I didn't remember ordering, then I saw the date on the package of November.

I'm guessing overland container shipping. Or even by sea. Some of those containers can sit for months if they're not labelled as urgent.

In my experience, containers sit until they are full then they go.

That's probably what happened then. DM's order probably went on the floor of a fresh container :)

I ordered a book once, from the book depository. It arrived about eight months later with a postmark of two days after I’d ordered it, all the way from Gloucester. That’s a 20 hour walk.

My guess would be: Lost in a nook (or cranny, let's not discriminate) in a Post Office and only found when something was moved.

My brother once received a tattered and charred birthday card that had been in a Post Box fire. There was a note from Royal Mail apologising for it being late :)

Artist places washing machine in tunnel for art, council say it's fly-tipping.

Except that Duchamp already did something like this.

If the definition of Art is an action or object that provokes an emotional response, and if 'meh' is an emotional response, then I suppose that is art.

I am amazed there are any secrets in Russia…It seems that if you speak Russian you have to speak in a way that can be heard across the room (or across the street if you are on a mobile)

That's right. If it wasn't for dog walkers, vast numbers of murder victims would never be found.

I guess that people out for an evening's dogging might spot murder victims too, but are perhaps not willing to report them for obvious reasons.

Had some broadband issues earlier and Virgin's customer service phone lines were down too, so I had a bit of a moan on Twitter to them. After a while, I got a DM from someone to help out. It was only when they asked me for my card details as part of the security check that I realised it was a fake account that must be preying on all the people who also couldn't get through on the phone. Sneaky gits. Hopefully they won't catch too many out before Twitter does something about it.

Had an amazing conversation with my daughter the other day where it quickly became apparent that she had got "Muslims" confused with "consonants" after covering the topics of types of letters and Ramadan in the same day at nursery. :DD

There are way too many consonants in English these days, we should get rid of some of them and make England vowel only again!

Hah. She has a game where she just throws out a random string of letters and then asks us what word it makes. So when I told her that's not even a word she replied with "is it because it's not got any muslims in it?". Which made me panic a bit thinking has she seen something awful somewhere or has some horrible twat has been talking to her somehow? Until we managed to piece it all together.

On the 29th of January at just past ten in the morning, I left the following memo to myself:

Quote:
Octopus
Grim...
Goose
Craster
Banana bunch
Horse

To my past self: What? What even is this? I don't remember.

I had to Google what the banana bunch even is. To say I am utterly perplexed is an understatement.

No, because I don’t power it up as I don’t even trust it in an empty room.

No. I don't use any kind of voice recognition, and this isn't an app that wod interact with it even if I did.

At the time I'd have been in work for three hours, so it's not some note of an amusing dream I had which is the only thing I could think of.
