Quote:
Asked, in an interview with Guardian columnist Owen Jones, if she would want to change the leader of the Labour party, Phillips said: “I would do anything that I felt was going to make the Labour party win the general election because if I don’t have that attitude then all I’m doing is colluding with the Tories.

“If that means making Jeremy better, I’ll roll my sleeves up. If that’s not going to happen – and I’ve said [this] to him and to his staff to their faces: ‘The day that ... you are hurting us more than you are helping us, I won’t knife you in the back, I’ll knife you in the front.’”

She's wonderful.

So we booked a wedding venue and paid the deposit and booked the registrar and I started my guitar lessons and bought a guitar etc.

We find out today the venue is closing down.

Awesome.

You have to get the band back together to raise money to save the place.

We've a meeting on Monday night with them about it.

We should be fine as we both went through the contract and got some amends done regarding cancellation. They have alternate venues but exclusive use for one of them is £29k versus the £5k for the one we have booked :/

Get married at the Beex BBQ thing and spend the £5k on meat.

It's a good job you hadn't paid me a deposit to play the wedding because that would have been long spent by now!

Pretty sure there's no need. If an extra 100 people turn up Saturday it's unlikely they'd leave hungry.

Yes of course, but it's the Scottish who really saw its potential and ran with it.

I thought it was quite nice and it made me a bit buzzy and excitable, but I still managed to sleep fine. Won't be making a regular thing of it though, it's quite expensive and it won't supplant my normal tipple of delicious spritzers.

Just seen my first ever Perseid meteors. Only a couple, but then the Manc light pollution may have had something to do with that. Lovely night for sitting in the garden gazing skywards. Also saw a couple of satellites lazily floating overhead.

I'm in Devon at the moment, in a flat with a roof terrace right by the beach.
We spent an hour up there last night watching for meteors and while we didn't see as many as I'd hoped there were a dozen or so and three satellites. Great stuff.

I saw four in the space of a minute as soon as I walked outside and then no more before I got bored. I love how if someone says that they just saw one you always have to look where they were looking, as though it somehow might still be there.

It'll be a muffin, barm cake, bap or tea cake, unless they have different local name in that part of Devon.

I saw a meteor last night. I looked out of the window for no more than 30 seconds, saw one and thought "cool", then closed the curtains and returned to my evening.

There used to be another "wine" called Eldorado that was in the same group as Buckfast, it was closer to white wine if memory serves, but @ 17.5|% couldn't be sure !

I bought a camera off Amazon the other week and today have found that the price has dropped by £58.

I've just been onto the Amazon live chat and because it's from two different sellers, I've got to order a new one and send the other back. Stupid rules... So, I'm going to order a new one and as soon as it arrives, I'll slap the postage label on it and drop it off at my local Collect+.

Still, £58 so it's no bother to me.

I perhaps loved it a lot more than you. I had the soundtrack on CD in my car.
