I'm back at work today after a week and a half off. We went to St Ives for a week. It was glorious. Being at work isn't.

You're the second person that has asked me that. The other one who asked is a funny guy so you're in good company.

Look at that - could have been a lovely compliment, then the last three words... zing!

"so you're ... in good company."

Or West Yorkshire

Cornwall. We actually stayed in Hayle which is just down the road but nevertheless, it was a great holiday.

Amongst other things, I had a free go on Star Trek Pinball, Time Crisis 2 and a racing game (Grid I think. MrsVision played that) in the one decent arcade I could find down there. They had a huge screen Space Invaders game too with a built in light gun. That was ace.

Indeed. There is also a new restaurant called Harry's Cali Style that's open just opposite the big Asda down there. It's a tiny place but the food they served (I say they, it was one woman cooking it all up) was absolutely amazing. I doubt she'll be there long before she is forced to expand and take on more staff.

My employer has installed a couple of Framey O pods in our office. They're bloody huge and they look daft. We've had a bit of a shortage of space for making calls / video conferencing with our US office, but these are just bizzare. ( Not our office BTW )

If I was in one of those I'd be feeling the festival fear. Any second now, some awful prick is going to come and tip me over in this portaloo and I'm going to drown in lumpen effluence. Only this time, it's boiling hot coffee, and my assailant is Bruce from sales.

Post subject:  Re: Bits and Bobs 48

They're soundproof, they have air con and a plug socket in them. I get the reasoning - we're spread across multiple sites so people often have to video or tele conference, but they don't half take up a lot of room, and they've been put in a really annoying place.

I found this story interesting -

Quote:
Gambling addict Adam Potts stole £2,754 worth of National Lottery scratch cards from a supermarket – before cashing in his £98 winnings.

The 25-year-old swiped a whole stand of cards from Tesco, in Longton, and then just 12 hours later he took a batch to Tesco Express, in Chell, to claim his prizes.

A £98 return on that number of scratchcards is pretty poor.

Was the G-Man in Half-Life purposely modelled on James Comey? That's quite a coincidence otherwise.

They should do an A B B A t-shirt using the ships.

Nope. I think that's TIE Interceptor, Falcon, Colonial Viper, Backwards Enterprise, Klingon Bird of Prey, ????, and Xwing.

Any ideas on the fifth one, anyone?

That's a great idea.

I just realised I could do one for Mrs Fop aka Abby.

But then I remembered she hates Star Wars.
