Went for a proper golf club fitting and got a new set of irons, an absolute bargain at only £170 per club.

A replacement for Edith, our 19 year old boiler, so named as we used the money left to me by my aunt Edith to buy it.

Unfortunately, the new boiler''s not working at the moment because there was an elbow pipe missing from the box and they couldn't get hold of a replacement today, we've been without heating or hot water since this morning. We've got a hive hub as well, but I don't intend to use it, it was included in the deal at no extra charge on free trial for three months. We've got enough devices using our router without adding another one to save me getting off my backside to fiddle with the thermostat.

Those bulbs were crap. Who wants bulbs that have to warm up before they get to full brightness, which wasn't very bright anyway?

The fluorescent tube in our kitchen went on the blink last week. I'd been looking at prices for replacement tubes and it was only then that I discovered that they've been banned since September. Then, when I was taking the faulty tube out of the fitting, it started to fall apart, so I wouldn't be able to install another tube, even if I could get one. This was turning into a classic 1st world problem as we were having the new boiler installed on Monday and didn't have fully operational lighting in the kitchen.

Anyroadup, the boiler is now working as the missing part was delivered and installed this morning, and we've got an order in for an LED replacement for the knackered fluorescent tube, so hopefully we won't have an ugly mark on the ceiling where the old one used to be.

Traditional strip lights give me migraines, and I can’t explain this but they guvexne panic attacks and have done since I was about 12. I wonder if these will be better for that.

I'm confused. Why would I want to indicate to my lover that my spouse was out being met with blank looks.

Oddly enough, I was met with blank looks when I cheerily hailed a couple of our neighbours when I was walking the dogs last week. Perhaps it was because I didn't have a box of Daz with me.

No, just walking in the opposite direction on the opposite side of the road. We don't know each other well and only met for the first time a couple of months ago when some new neighbours a couple of doors down invited us to a 'get to know the new neighbours party.'

Similar problem at the Mersey Gateway Bridge. You have 24 hours after crossing to pay the toll. I think I only forgot to pay on two occasions, but it was frustrating as I'd paid the toll lots of time, so they had my registration and email address, so they could easily set up an automated email to regular users to remind them if they've forgotten to pay.

Now I'm approaching having everything set up (only 6 months later) I can tell you it absolutely isn't so that my work laptop has the keyboard and mouse while some other device has the monitor.

I've now got a monitor arm to free up all the space the stand occupied. It's rated for 15kg on the gas strut (massively overbuilt in every other aspect). Turns out my monitor is really bloody heavy, it can hold it when it's too high but get to horizontal and the gas strut gives up. Too much effort to undo and return, so it's wedged for now and I'll figure out how to limit the range of motion.

Or I could use the dial to adjust the tension on the arm.

Hit Squad games for the Speccy!

Darkman (last sold item on eBay £411.99
Addams Family (last sold £389.90)
WWF Wrestlemania (£103.00)
Castle Master (Not sold items showing)

I got them at £20 each from a place you wouldn't expect spectrum games to be. BARG!

I had Wrestlemania on the Amiga and I can't tell you how disappointed I was with it. From the screenshots, it looked just like WWF Superstars on the arcade. A game that I loved and still play to this day but the gameplay of Wrestlemania was completely different. You just had to waggle the joystick to perform moves. Terrible. I managed to complete it but only by having the mouse in the joystick port and waggling with that instead.

But anyway, I thought I'd kept up with game prices but those prices are absolutely crazy! An amazing find Dimrill. Few and far between these days but well done.

Simpsons Hit Squad went for over £500 a few months back. I was getting a lot of the younger and rarer titles for under a tenner, but then Retro Gamer did an article on a Hit Squad collection and it's gone mad since then.
