I’d go for laminate plus rug - you can get some really nice looking laminate flooring and it will be more hard wearing and easier to clean if you have to walk on wet ground to get there. Plus easier to redecorate if you fancy a change since you can just change the rug. Love the sound of the desk. I saw a home office design online that was lovely with a really deep dark green wall then lighter walls. Something like that or a deep blue with loads of plants like palms, snake plants, rubber plants etc would be brilliant. |

I bought myself a book of the most beautiful building in the world, as I haven’t visited for a while and just miss it. I’d recommend it to anyone, and it’s full of inspiration for any design/art bods. The pterosaur made me think of @Zardoz especially. |

Oh, honestly, you could absolutely empty the NHM and still spend a full and exciting time just looking at the walls, the columns, the ceilings, windows, staircases. Every inch is a masterpiece. The tea rooms (not the newish, large, open plan one but the older ones) were designed by William Morris. I haven’t managed to sit down and read the book yet but I didn’t see any of the pictures of that from my quick flick through (maybe because it counts as the furnishings rather than architecture, though). Did you spit the trilobite in one of the carved friezes? I’d have put trilobites everywhere. |
