After over a week had gone by without receiving them, I politely messaged the eBay seller to ask if he'd posted them yet. This opened up a case in eBay which the seller took to meaning that I didn't want them any more so refunded my money rather than just responding to my question. Idiot. Apparently he hadn't had time to go to the post office yet, but if I'm spending that much on some games, I don't think he's too unreasonable to expect them to arrive sooner rather than later. <-250> |

This happened earlier. Bought an N64 & 5 games for £35. Wouldn't be bad even without the games, but one of those was Conker's Bad Fur Day, so easily worth £100+. About an hour later, the seller refunded me my money and cancelled the auction. When I asked why, he got all stroppy and said 'Because you asked me too! Are you trying to mess around here? I don't appreciate this as i have been trying to accommodate you'. I suspect someone else messaged them making them a better offer. |

I suspect someone else messaged them making them a better offer. The plot thickens. Last night, the same N64 turned up on eBay, but from a different seller and this time bundled with a Gamecube and some games for £85 plus postage. I was tempted to steer clear after the original hassle, but I figured I'd take a chance, as eBay would reimburse me anyway if things went wrong. Had a message from the seller this morning, so I feared the worst, but it was them asking for a contact number for the courier, so I may actually end up with the game after all. (expect a future post where I moan about an empty box turning up) |

As a footnote to it all, I had an apologetic eBay message over the weekend from the original seller. She'd genuinely got mixed up between me and another bidder. I assume someone had chanced their arm asking them to cancel the auction and sell it to them instead and she thought that was me. Still, it all worked out ok. Now, let's see if I get any trouble over this auction next. I wouldn't be surprised if the Snatcher box was empty or something. |
