Despite the fact I said I wouldn’t start any more Netflix Originals in protest for their shit policy of cancelling them after three seasons

House of Cards and Orange is the New Black have both had six seasons, and the latter is coming back for a seventh. The Crown has been renewed for season four. There have been four seasons of Narcos. Sabrina has been renewed for seasons three and four.

Kimmy Schmidt did four seasons. Grace and Frankie has done five and is renewed for a sixth. Fuller House has done four seasons with a fifth in production. The Ranch has six seasons to date with another on the way.

We've had five seasons of Bojack Horseman and a sixth is coming. We’ve had three of F is for Family and a fourth is being made. Big Mouth is getting a fourth season and Disenchantment is getting a second, third, and fourth season.

There’s more, if you’d like.

I think I’ve proven my central hypothesis, which is that you’re wrong again as usual.

So you’ve got nothing else. A remarkable climbdown

I’ll wait for it to be on Netflix. All three seasons.

It appears to be "people on Reddit are mad therefore Netflix is doomed."

I thought it was a fairly well argued case. The increase in piracy traffic as streaming services have diversified is interesting.

I know a few folks who of late who have gone back to the mindset of 'fuck it, I'll just pirate it'.

Yet content is easier to access than ever before for the masses. I’m not surprised that people who used to pirate may consider pirating again, but for the majority who used to buy a few DVDs a month, a few subs of a tenner a month is pretty good considering how much physical media and Sky costs.

I genuinely wish I knew how to pirate, there are a few old things I would have to pay a fortune for but would only watch like once with the kiddo

anyway, we only have Netflix and normal NL tv so there is a lot we don't get

Currently watching on Netflix: Hemlock Grove
Currently watching on Netflix with kid: RuPauls Drag Race
Currently watching with husband: DVDs of the Xfiles

I download quite a lot of stuff. I also subscribe to Netflix and Amazon Prime. I don't know where that fits in the milieu of TV financing.

I've finished the whole season now and it's definitely worth watching.

Yes, I thought THE RAIN's first season was pretty good. It's entirely derivative but nicely done, coherent, gives you characters you care about (giving each of the main characters a proper backstory was a lovely touch), who mainly do fairly logical things for believable reasons.

Definitely watch it in Danish with the subs.

Solid 750/1000 material I reckon, I watched the whole thing in about five evenings.

Also, Alba August is a very nice young lady.

SEASON TWO of THE RAIN is on Netflix now.

I will make a start on it this evening and also admire Ms August's loveliness.

Did the first two episodes last night, and it's remaining an excellent programme.

Nothing genre defining or revolutionary, but as per Season One, a solid assembly of all the required components. Also moves the story in a new and interesting direction, and still makes a good call in taking the time to get to know the characters.

Worth the investment of time IMO.

I finished Season 2 of THE RAIN which is not as good as Season 1 but still a decently watchable post-apocalyptic yarn.

It actually moved the story and 'the world' on which keeps the post-apocalyptic bit of the apocalypse interesting, unlike say, TWD which just has the same magical winter-resistant zombies for five thousand years.

Blatant set up for Season 3 (and quite an intriguing one at that), so hopefully there'll be more.
