I honestly thought Lucy Davies was wearing a really crap looking fat-suit but, it turns out, erm, she isn’t wearing one.

NuSabrina is all watched.

Yes. I liked that. Sabrina's a stone-cold hardnut, which I can get on board with.

Although (literally last scene spoiler):

Christ, did I get a powerful iZombie vibe off her new haircut

I've only just now retroactively recognised her from Wonder Woman because I read your post and went to look her up.

Have some more Sabrina bitches.

Edit: Re: Lucy Davis. There’s ‘something’ about her makeup or something that makes her look strange on screen, like it’s not her real face, a sort of plasticine look, like she’s just come off the set of the Nutty Professor. Weird. Anyhoo, it was just very distracting.

The Coen Brothers' 'The Ballad of Buster Scruggs ' is pretty good. I'm not totally sold on an anthology of stories than a full film as some of the stories vary in pacing and length, but I can't fault the acting and visuals.

I am 10 episodes into this now and it is indeed MUCH EXCELLENT.

Holy shit there's some flab on it though, I swear I could excise 5-10 minutes of every single episode and nothing of substance would really be lost.

It's not quite as bad as Luke Cage where sometimes LITERALLY NOTHING HAPPENS for quite a while (occasionally for an entire episode), in that everything in DD is in there for a reason, but a more efficient combo of writer/director/editor could achieve in a couple of minutes what they routinely take ten minutes to get done. (Or just leave out completely in some cases, 'cause we've worked it out already, or it's implied elsewhere in the story.)

Still very good though, and it goes on as soon as Mrs Hearthly and Jnr are upstairs.

Great use of positional audio, I've been caught out by sounds from the rear speakers on more than once occasion and jumped a bit.

So it turns out I was nine episodes in as I watched episodes 10 and and 11 last night.

Episode 10, 'Karen', was brilliant, normally I'm a bit iffy on that sort of episode (like that dreadful one in S02 of Stranger Things), but it worked really well here and carried some genuine emotional heft.

11 was great as well, in fact, the latter half of the season has tightened up quite a lot and looks to be building towards a superb conclusion.

Very, very good telly. Watch S03 of Daredevil, it's great!

Totally agree; I was lukewarm on season 2 after loving the first one but S3 really grabbed me again. I suspect that's largely to do with D'onofrios Fisk featuring massively again, but also Bullseye was a worthy villain.

So I finished Season 3 of Daredevil last night and it deserves a bit of criticism IMO.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
They had a bit of a charge to the finish line didn't they? At the end of episode 12 it's all still up in the air, and I'm thinking, 'Really, they're going to wrap all this up in one episode?'

Could they only get Vanessa for a couple of episodes or something? Her becoming part of the Fisk Crime Empire was a great dynamic but it scarcely had time to draw a breath before it was over.

Then they wasted 10 minutes of the last episode with a load of schmaltzy epilogue stuff that could have been satisfactorily (and better) done in about 3 minutes.

Considering the lackadaisical pace of many of the early episodes, squishing so much stuff into the last two episodes felt like a bit of a rush job TBH.

It's still a really solid season of telly, I'd go 850/1000, but to my mind it definitely had pacing issues overall.

very much agree. Last episode was a disappointment to me, felt overly hastily done.

Looks like arguing over rights, costs and all sorts of other office paperwork bollocks. I expect more of this as we get more streaming services coming online.

At which point piracy will start to look like the best option, of course.

Considering how awful Season 2 was, that's no great loss.

THEY'D BETTER STILL DO THE PUNISHER SEASON 2 THOUGH.

Ok, I’ve finally managed to watch all of nuSabrina.

Episodes 1-3 are decent;
Episodes 4-6 are boring shit; and,
Episodes 7-10 are good.

Sabrina herself is good, the Aunts are good, sexy school teacher witch is sexy AF, the High Priest is campy fun, the witch sisters are alright (and the leader fit AF) however Roz and Suzy are very irritating and Harvey is the most irritating to watch since he’s an annoying drip.

The good: the production is nice and the visual effects are really good. The story is alright. They finally stop using that stupid fucking distorted fish eye lense episode 7 onwards. Sabrina holds it together for the most part.

The bad: Harvey after episode 3 for starters. The middle episodes really sag. But the biggest complaint I have is that it suffers from Luke Cage syndrome: an hour and above is far far FAR too long for the stories it has to tell in each episode. It outstays it’s welcome every single episode. There’s too much filler and each episode needs drastically edited down to the 40/45 minute mark. It’s too long and it’s too boring in parts. It needs to be much punchier and it isn’t. I certainly wouldn’t bemoan anyone who watched a couple of episodes and then just stopped. I did. I liked it but I wasn’t interested enough to keep going through the entire season.

So nuSabrina season 1 gets a 4/10 from me. Good but should be much better. No, hang on, what about the sexy witch teacher? I’d give her one. Extra point that is! 5/10
