I finished Mr in between last night and loved every second of it!

Glad you liked it. The story of it getting made is good. Don't think this is the one I first read which made the point more pithily, but still good.

tldr: The lead, Scott Ryan, hadn't had much luck with acting, but found a showrunner who refused to make it unless he was the star.

The weird thing is I spent most of the first season trying to remember what I'd seen him in before. When I found out that was his first acting gig wasn't quite a mindblown.gif moment but not far off.
