Last night my XB1X decided to throw the "Quantum Break corruption" spaz. Basically if you install QB on a 1X it can lead to save game corruption. And it did, too. I had to reset the console (the lite one without losing all your shit). I'm hoping it works now as it's a very enjoyable game.

Any way the yay came when the code for another 3 months Live worked after resetting the console. I already put 3 months on, but then got a decent deal on another 3 months. However for three days it refused to add, saying something about region (which I then spent about two hours setting to UK on two PCs and my console etc).

So now I am all paid up (god, it hurts) until December :)

The smoke alarm on my landing went off last night at around midnight. There wasn't a fire or anything so I'm putting it down to it being really hot at the moment.

I hope it doesn't happen again tonight. It scared the life out of me!

My softball club has two teams now. The first team (that I occasionally play for) plays in East Midlands Softball League Division 1, and the second team (which I captain) plays in Division 3.

The second team finished joint-top of Spring League D3 with the same points and wins as another team but missed out on the championship due to a 0-2 head-to-head record.

The first team finished joint-top of Spring League D1 with the same number of points, wins, head-to-head record (1-1) and runs allowed so the championship will be decided on the toss of a coin!

While gutted to have missed out on promotion I'm really proud of our efforts and think it may have come a bit too soon anyway. Half of our team are either brand new or in their second season, and we would probably struggled. Hopefully we can keep playing well in the Summer League and get promoted in time for spring 2019!

We've also reached five tournament finals and lost them all, but I haven't been involved due to lack of funds.

In incredible scenes it turns out we read the rules incorrectly and it's only runs allowed versus the teams you're tied with that counts. So we won Division 3. :attitude:

It's the Division 1 teams I'm worried about, including our first team.

There's actually cross-divisional play so we already played all the Division 2 teams in the spring league, as well as all D3 teams twice. Now we're in D2 ourselves we play everyone in all three divisions.

It's not much different to the way MLB operates. They have two leagues with three divisions each and everyone plays inter-divisionally (there's even inter-league play now).

It makes for amusing tables like our Division 3 this season where the three top teams all lost more games than they won and tied for 1st place.

Friends and their kids went with us to a Haunted Halowe'en farm.. There was a Haunted Barrel tractor Ride where a tractor pulls a train full of barrels along a route and people jump up in costumes etc and shout "boo!" or whatever. 2 of the 3 kids that went on that ride with MrsA are now unable to sleep due to "the scary clown". "the pig-man" and "the duck man" . Those 2 are not mine so "yay". Bigone seems unaffected and Doone and I went to look at an emu instead of going on ride. Read the small print, kids.

More of a Nay! but Yay! then Nay! The main TV seemed to be on the path to self-destruction the other day, I noticed a horizontal line of stuck pixels going across the bottom. That Nay! only lasted about five seconds before I started plotting what to get to replace it and excitedly drew up a shortlist of 55" ones that would be a nice upgrade. Then switched it on last night and the fucking thing's fine again.

I'm sure TV's shrink.

Every time we've had a new non CRT telly it's been "WOW! This is massive, it's like being at the cinema!" a few months down the line and you see how much extra wasted space there is around the wall that a bigger TV could occupy :D

About 11 years old. and yeah it could have been much worse, looking like it might cost the best part of a grand to replace and install, which is perfect timing, I mean there is never a good time for that sort of thing, but a month before christmas has got to be one of the worst times.

Malc, please get some more quotes. I had some electrical work done last month that included a new board, three new sockets, and outside light and full safety certificate for the house. It cost me £500. Although I appreciate yours is more urgent so you might be paying for that.

Hope you get it sorted soon. :)

I will do, he hasn't given me the quote yet, this was just a verbal rough figure. He thought the new box would be about £500 (with the replacement breakers too) and that it would take about 10 hours at £25 an hour.
