So glad things are improving Mimi! I hadn't realised it had quite been that bad, specifically about Darwin's sight. I hope you continue to feel better (re the vertigo - has labyrinthitis been suggested/investigated? I've had that, with similar symptoms - not nice, but treatable). Big Duggee Hugs to all four of you! :luv:

When I saw the cardiologist on Wednesday, he told Russell and I that we were to make two referral requests with the GP: ENT and dermatologist. My skin since my liver problems started has been very sore, and was actually the first thing the cardiologist remarked on when he saw me (which made me feel awesome as Russell always tells me nobody notices it), but the yesterday denied me both. He’s given me a seven day course if antibiotics and said to make an appointment for four weeks. That annoyed me as if the antibiotics don’t work over that week then I’ve got three more weeks before I can even request to see the ENT again. I feel a bit weak in that as the cardiologist said I was to demand, nit take no for an answer, and I buckled. So I’m going to request a different GP on advice of the pharmacist. And take Russell with me.

And thanks, all. It’s been difficult but my family have been amazing, and a few friends have been right beside me in life and online and really helped in the dark moments.

Not sure if I mentioned on here, but on Good Friday I cut my big toe open. It's a week later, so I can finally show the healing.

This sounds very sensible - from the above alone, your current GP sounds pretty rubbish. As always, wishing you both the best of luck with it.

The left stick on my Switch has started drifting... Which is really annoying when I'm playing a game. It's out of warranty too which means I'm looking at either buying a second hand one for £30 or a brand new set for £60ish.

The yay comes from visiting the wife's cousin yesterday who just happens to work in an official repair centre for the Switch! He's managed to get me a new stick today which I can replace myself. Ace!

That’s a bit of luck! Could he also get you spares and refurb pieces if you needed/wanted them (in case you wanted extra controllers)? Either way, what a handy family :D

3rd March 2017 apparently. I bought mine on day one. In fairness, he said that his place does fix them for free even if they're out of warranty but there's at least a 2 week turnaround time.

And yes Mimi, that would be useful! I'm sure they wouldn't miss a hand full of spare parts.

That's weird, I had issues with the left stick on my original joycons (which I put down to dropping it in a cup of coffee) so I bought a new set and now they're going a bit wonky too.

The buttons on my right joycon stick down despite never having, say, spilt a damn thing on them.

I think I would have presumed that the coffee would have done them in too but for the second pair Jem, there's quite a few people online saying that they've had problems with the sticks drifting. You can buy the replacement analogue sticks from Amazon for less than £20 so it might be an option to replace those.

Feels a bit shit to have to replace it on a 12 month old £65 controller though >:( My gamecube controller stick is fine and that's 15 years old or thereabouts.

Very flimsy bit of kit unfortunately. I've had to fix my sons left shoulder button after he dropped his. Only £3 or so for the part so not too bad. He's got the Pro controller too now which is much sturdier.

One of my fillings has come out... The only yay from this is that it doesn't hurt.

It's really annoying and sharp on my tongue though... Oh, and probably expensive to fix.

I lost most of a filling recently and it also didn't hurt. Wasn't expensive to fix either.

Did start hurting after it had been fixed though. :S

I had a root canal a few years back, and since then it has ached a bit every so often. Went back a couple of times to get it sorted with no joy and have just lived with it. It's annoying rather than super painful.

Cut to this year and a new dentist "did you know you have a tiny crack in the cap of your root canal? I'll sort that out, only take a minute and you don't need anesthetic " No more pain...

Post subject:  Re: The 'Nay!' but 'Yay!' Thread

I've had my tooth fixed. The dentist couldn't understand why I wasn't in pain but there you go.

He filed down the sharp edge but thought it needed a filling in the gap. He didn't charge me for this either so that's great!

Since moving into this house I hadn't been able to have a relaxing bath as the pressure through the tap was so poor, by the time there was enough water in the bath it was only just warm.

I accidentally fixed this yesterday and was able to have a nice hot bath last night! :D

Yay! - I went and got my CBT license today just cause I fancied seeing what riding around on a motorcycle might be like. I’ve never ridden a motorcycle before and it was pretty fun just bobbing around a car park that morning. I never even got to use third gear and was barely out of first.

Nay! - the instructor took me on a main road in the afternoon and it was fucking terrifying. Wind hitting your chest and from either side. Some massive lorry behind me ready to crush me beneath its wheels. Every bump, graze or crevice in the road surface threatens to throw you off. Speeding at 45-50 mph feels like at any moment you’ll be eating asphalt.

Yay! I passed and apparently I can shove a couple of L-plates on a 125cc bike and ride the roads with everyone else.

Nay! Ride the death circuits until someone murders you with a lorry!
