Yeah I remember it going onto the discard pile. I might just read up and see how it ended, same with The Walking Dead (has that actually even ended?).

TWD is still going, and there is a new series coming set even further into the future.

The comics concluded properly though.

Where do you get those massive chequebooks from?
i think if you’re going to ironically pay someone by cheque, you should do it massively. You know, a bit like your 85 year old maiden aunt who still sends you a cheque for a fiver every year for your birthday. I could start doing that to my niece...

My Vespa passed it’s MOT today. Yay

I’d done just under 1000 miles since last year. Nay

Or: yay because that's helping the resale value ;)

How many miles do you normally do?

Not huge. I think I averaged 2300 a year on the previous one I had. I’d done more on the Kawasaki I had in between but that was doing some commuting as well.

I got it at a very good price so it’s not depreciated at all in a year and a half.

My Mini convertible is doing well too. In 32 months and 22k miles it only seems to have lost about £3k.

I need to keep buying vehicles in the dead of winter.

Nay: Some tosser or tossers have stolen a load of parts from my van while I went for a wee at Buttonwood services. I'd done the right thing and put my tablet and bag in the back but didn't lock it properly. Eejit!!

When I returned and opened the back to get tablet and bag, two crates full of parts (PIN pads, hand held terminals, HDDs and a load of interface cables) had been almost emptied.

Yay: They didn't take my tablet or bag, just moved them out of the way, and they didn't see my laptop bag, so that's not been pilfered either. The missing parts are an annoyance, but can be replaced. They opened a box to see what was in it, which was a PIN pad, but didn't take it, but did take two that they hadn't opened. Odd. But It would have been a real pain in the are if they'd taken my laptop and tablet.

I'd love to see their faces when they open everything because virtually nothing will be of any use to them. They may be able to flog the hand held terminals in a pub, as they look like fancy smart phones, but they won't be able to do anything with them.

I'm just doing an inventory to see what's gone.
I'm on leave next week, so I don't give a shit about all this anyway, really.

Ideal for modding the original Xbox.. Perhaps you could narrow down your search to someone who likes tinkering with old consoles and perhaps knew of your movements from seeing you every Tuesday night?

Oh... hang on a sec...

37 items stolen. Mostly cables and odd small parts in jiffy bags.

On the plus side, they took an RFID stock "gun" that I'd been trying to send back to stores for two years, but of which that they denied all knowledge. That's a result.

Went for a long walk a couple of weeks ago, in my trainers. They got very wet, and then smelled. Since then, they've been stinking out my car, despite regular sprays with some obviously not-magic spray.

Last night I thought yes, stick them under the car. Car gets un-stunk, trainers might dry off properly for once. And as I drive off, surely I will spot them?

I did not. Stinky trainers, left in a car park, now gone. I am glad.

My first day back in work after living the furlough dream for 6 months. Good to have a job to go back to though!

It's true! I am rarely short of trainers, but not currently running so it isn't urgent. (Scan on Saturday, hoping I'll then, subject to NHS waiting lists etc., have a prognosis and some options.)

What was it again, your knee?

Get Kovacs to choose you some, then you won’t be able to miss spotting them under your car or in the rear view mirror.

That's a great idea! Dark blue did not do the trick. Fluorescent green with orange and pink detail would have done it.

And yes, a knee - haven't (quite) straightened my left leg for a while. It'll be a year some time this month.

Some of mine can be seen from space.

Nay: my boss is pushing us to make preventative maintenance calls again, which goes against what senior management decided when the first lock down started. The peasants are likely to revolt.

Yay: We've all got a 2.5% pay rise from 1/11. It was announced very late. Literally, in fact. It was sent at 23.55 on Monday.
