The whole season should be 5 minutes of them storming in and fucking shit up, solving whatever the issues is, then roll credits. |

The comics version of Scarlet Witch has been interesting at times due to mental illness making her a massively powerful liability; something that came to the fore in the House of M storyline. Unless they're going to set all that up though then yeah, the movie incarnation isn't currently interesting enough to make much of I don't think. Similarly The Vision has only ever caught my attention in the short recent-ish run of his solo series which saw him create a family for himself in order to try and experience a more 'normal' human life. This went off the rails of course and ended with some pretty dark domestic-level shit that was a really unexpected use of such a powerful character. Again though they're not going to do that with the film version and it wouldn't work with that incarnation of the character anyway. I'm totally down for a Loki series though, that has the potential to be brilliant given how great some of his solo comics stuff has been over the years. |

Captain Marvel was solid stuff. It wasn't spectacular, but it was enjoyable enough. Young Fury was perfect, and there were some solid laughs. Carol is fuck hard, too - as the boy said as the film finished "oh man, Thanos is dead." The "Thanks, Stan" moment was lovely, too. |

I agree. That "people younger than they are" thing is getting better and less intrusive, Stan was a big highlight and very beautiful, and Captain working her way through a frigate was very good. There was one other big laugh (I forget what) and a few smaller ones. Otherwise it was a bit of a squashed together thing - there were a few scenes where I thought, yeah, I see what you mean, and what the story is here, but I bet you filmed it originally, and have cut it. It would be better with 5-10 minutes more early on, to flesh those scenes out a bit. But good enough. |

Really enjoyed Captain Marvel. Brie Larson has the best facial expressions, and it was a great mix of comedy and action. |

My top 5 MCU movies: 1: Thor: Ragnarok 2: Captain Marvel 3: GotG 4: The Avengers 5: Black Panther I enjoyed it that much. The action was spot on, the humour was great, and it was just great watching Captain Marvel just throw down. It brought to mind the 'Immigrant Song' bits of Ragnarok in the catharsis factor. |

TBH, Civil War doesn't get in my top ten. But then my favourite Iron Man movie is number 3. Which I feel is hated because of what it wasn't, not what it was. |

Captain Marvel. First third was a jumbled mess, which I know was the intention, but that doesn't mean it works as a film. Second third was really good, final third was excellent. Brie Larson was great in the role, really liked her, and Samuel L was let loose more than usual and was very engaging and amusing. The youngyfiying is spooky good. Now I'm used to OLED HDR 4k goodness, it really shows up how bad cinemas are these days, I was watching on the main screen in 4k in my local multiplex, and the quality was just utter shite. Good sound but shocking washed out low definition image. I'd happily pay a tenner to watch it at home if that was possible, rather than the fiver of my local multiplex. |

There's a new Vue cinema in Bedford and the picture there is superb, especially compared to the shitty old ciniworld up the road. £10 for popcorn and a drink, though! |

We had a new vue open (4 years late) a mile away just after Christmas. All seats are recliners and have built in tables and cup holder and the picture and sound quality is best I’ve seen. Plus, as it opened they closed the old shitty cinema and they’re turning that into a picture house. To add to my glee, we get a free ticket each every week with our health insurance so give a fuck how much popcorn costs. |

I know there's a lot of people that don't like the MCU films, and the effect it's had on cinema as a whole, but I'm *so* looking forward to this. We went to see Captain Marvel last night which I thoroughly enjoyed (She's an awesome character with a perfect smile) and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't turn out the way I expected. These films have been something that we've always enjoyed together and it's built to what I hope will be a fitting conclusion. |
