I'm struggling to get excited about Captain Marvel, but I think that is less about the film itself and more about it not really moving anything on from Infinity War, so it just feels a bit... pointless.

I haven't watched Ant Man 2 yet.

I understand the need to set stuff up for her to be in part 2, but that doesn't change my existential ennui around it all

Did they get the Black Panther animation team on that space fight cause that looked like trash.

I'm a bit like this at the moment. IW is paused on the ultimate cliff edge making anything else in the universe right now a bit like wasted effort.

Maybe after all that it'd be nice to have some smaller scale adventures where it isn't the whole world/galaxy/universe/multiverse in jeopardy. Or maybe some simpler powers, but smartly used.

I'm not sure I can fully articulate the way I'm feeling but it seems like the stakes keep getting higher and the super heroes more powerful and the music more tense and dramatic, and yet instead of 'wow she can fly in space and shoot lasers and shit that's amazing' my feeling is one of mild indifference, as she's clearly going to save the day by overcoming a struggle and becoming even more powerful. Probably by flying a bit faster through space or shooting a bigger laser out of every orifice and limb or something.

Also, as Craster says, back to IW with some real risk and danger of loss.

I read this nodding along and then immediately considered the plots of each of the Iron Man films and reverted back to wanting the universe to be at the edge of extinction.

Iron Man 3 was a bit pants (although I enjoyed Ben Kingsley in it) but I personally thought 1 and 2 were good fun and liked them.

I don’t think most people knew of/understood/gave two shiny shits about Black panther, and that film just kept getting bigger audiences after week 1.

They just appeal to Thanos'es's's better nature and he reverses everything.

I just hope that there is some actual sacrifice made in order to reset everything. It can just be a straightforward reset button.
