As did I.
It'll be interesting to see how the next two Marvel films fit in between this and Avengers 4.

Oh my god that was so good!

Captain Marvel to save the day! And whatever Dr Strange saw that means he had to keep Stark alive!

BTW, it didn’t say Hawkeye and Ant Man were spending time with their families; they were under house arrest for their crimes in Civil War. I predict both will have an interesting day in Avengers 4.

Also, they hit a stunningly good balance between comedy and action.

Watched it again yesterday, and knowing what was coming didn't spoil it at all; if anything I could just enjoy it more, as the pace is pretty quick, particularly in the first hour or so. Plus in Malaysia watching it in Dolby Atmos (tm) costs £3, so why not? They silence the sound for 'asshole' and blur out a finger, which was also entertaining.

Captain Marvel is set in the 90s (complete with de-aged Nick Fury with two working eyes), so that’s covered. Ant-Man And The Wasp is a puzzle though.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set just after Civil War apparently, so before Infinity War.

I've heard that Ant-Man is concurrent with Avengers. Hence the close release date.

Saw Avengers. Loved it. Wasn't expecting to catch feels from Thanos of all people!

Seen it, loved it.

A film where the baddie succeeds in full feels fresh in a genre which has been stale for quite a while (cept for Thor: Ragnorok and Civil War which are both ace). It gave me chills and felt a bit like Transformers: The Movie.

Only problem is, the sequel is absolutely, positively, guaranteed to have some time reverse bollocks that undoes everything and makes the whole first film completely fucking pointless.

But if I’m wrong and everyone who is dead remains dead forever then this is the boldest most awesome film I’ve watched in some time.

It won’t be though. Time travel, init. *yawn*

And I want to moan about a couple of shoddy CGI moments, but especially Bruce Banner.

Every CGI moment with his face hanging out of the Iron Man suit was garbage and really took me out the moment.

And nano machine suit Iron Man was stupid.

I agree, the CGI on Banner's head right at the end was garbage.

I've just realised, the ones left alive at the end were the original avengers. Stark, Thor, Banner and Black Widow. Presumably Hawkeye survived too, but may have lost a few kids, leading to MOTIVATION.

I’m personally going for either:

* They’re all sucked up into the Soul Stone, or
* Some quantum thing where they’re all transported to another reality (Maybe Ant Man can help)

Black Panther was pretty much ruined by Black Panther. I'd have rather seen a film about anyone else in the movie.

Also, how the fuck do you sew with vibranium?

The thing about the end of Infinity War was that everyone was expecting the OG Avengers to cark it. Contractual stuff, all that jazz. To keep it shocking, the "wrong" characters had to die.

It'll be fixed of course. The Avengers are on the one true path to victory, and the only way to win is to reverse the Fingersnap of Doom. I mean, Thanos is done. You can't beat him. He's won and has retired. You can't even hurt him, he's lost everything already. Hell, he probably included himself in the "disolving to dust sweepstakes" because that's how he rolls.

Heimdall: dead (sign Idris up for Blade, Marvel!)
Loki: Not taking any bets on that sticking.
The Vision: He's a robot, and I bet Wakanda has really good wi-fi. All he needs is a new body.
Gamora: Currently resides in the soul stone. They'll probably get her out somehow.

I could see it sticking as it's the end of the run, but Spider-Man can't be dead - Sony would lose their shit.

Black Panther 2 is definitely happening
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=marvel2017b.htm

As for Spider-Man, they've actually already announced a sequel to Homecoming, due after Avengers 4.

My guess is that Heimdall is actually dead, Loki will return (maybe recast and it will be Kid Loki, ideally played by the Joffrey actor), Gamora is in the Soul Stone and will be let out again (either in Avengers 4, or as part of the GOTG3 plot), Vision just needs a new physical form or similar. Everyone turned to dust will return, but it will likely come at the cost of one or more of the OG Avengers sacrificing themselves (my guess is Stark, but maybe Cap).

Does Deadpool 2 fit in here? Is it part of the marvel cinematic universe?

It was great anyway, as good as the first one I would say, and actually had the novelty of being unpredictable, which is an accomplishment these days.

Two dismembered thumbs up.

That it's not. I was agreeing with you about Brolin looking like Cena.

Anyway, the whole MCU/Fox thing will soon be academic, and because the Deadpool movies are pretty much standalone in their own (sorta) continuity, they can be grandfathered in much easier than the rest of the X-Men stuff.

Yeah my guess is that Ryan Reynolds, and maybe the supporting cast will be carried over to the MCU, but all the other X-Men will be recast/rebooted.

He had two sessions with Black Panther and I’m still only 1 hr 15 minutes into it. Namely because (a) it’s boring and (b) the CGI is just utter dogshit. It’s like they gave the CGI budget to infinity war and cobbled together a couple of Amiga 1200 and got the effects guys from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine to make this multimillion dollar film.

Babylon 5 effects were done on an Amiga. Not sure about DS9.

I’ve finally managed to watch Black Panther. It’s awful. A generic superhero movie that’s entirely predictable with a bland lead role devoid of any meaningful personality.

I don’t know why they pretend to kill off their lead characters when it’s obvious they’re going to come back especially when they’re back within 3 minutes of their “death”. There’s no consequences in these films: no one of interest actually dies, there’s no tension created when the hero dies because you know he’ll be back in a few minutes. Plus there’s no humour and/or interesting diaglogue and/or performances to offset the generic story. Well, Killmonger was alright-ish. And the action sequences, Jesus Christ, the action. It was without question the most janky looking rubbish I’ve seen in a while. The CGI was horrible, just horrible. It’s like the Marvel animators have never seen a human move. The final battle was filled with elastic people stretching all over the place with physics turned off as they went booiiiiing around the screen. The fight next to the train tracks should have been tense and exciting but nope I barely gave a shit as Killmonger is stabbed to death in a weak anticlimactic battle. And nanotechnology is such a terrible excuse for a suit that can appear and disappear at will. I hated Iron Man’s suit in Infinity War and it’s implementation is terrible here too. For a superhero film it’s just daft. I’m not sure why I feel so aggrieved about it either as these films have shrinking men, men that turn green, men that sprew lightning and women that...um...er...put their thighs around your neck and throw you over time and time again.

And the fact that Wakanda is this futuristic world hidden away didn’t sit right with me either since we’ve seen nothing of the sort in the previous films, but now there’s this massive futuristic city with flying saucers and hyper tech and blah blah. Actually didn’t Black Panther in Civil War have a normal helmet that he took off? I think so. But now he gets this crazy tech from a necklace just in time for his own film filmed exclusively on green screen.

Oh and sodding Bilbo Baggins as the FBI agent who shows up because... why was he there again? So I can watch him play a video game when there’s a massive battle going on outside that I could be watching instead? Thanks for that. I’m not saying that he’s a bad actor but he wasn’t suited to this stupid bit part that should have been cut out. We really didn’t need ‘murica getting involved for all sorts of reasons.

To conclude: Black Panther. It’s shit. I am now racist.

I have to agree with you. You are racist. I felt it was one of the weakest Marvel movies to date. Only probably the 2nd Thor movie was worse.

I get that it's an *important* movie, but man was it dull.

I generally disagree with most of that, but almost all of it is subjective.

Wakanda has always been the secretive supertech place though. Referenced in the Ultron movie where Andy Serkis first appeared and also in Civil War, where it was shown that they had fancy gadgets despite being outwardly backwards.

Him getting a new gadget is no different than Iron Man getting new suits each movie and Doctor Strange learning new and useful spells.

Agree about the ‘death’ though.

I had two problems with Black Panther: it starts really slow, and like every other character is more interesting than T'Challa.
