Don't think it ever made it to Vita in the end, which is a shame.

i think it did. In the comments section it looks like one of the developers commented about a 'translation' problem..., and see https://store.playstation.com/nl-nl/pro ... -st-111284 .. but in the end.. it's a perfect switch game too...

Download a demo on Switch. Play for 20 min. Buy game. Progress is not carried over from demo. That’s some bullshit, Nintendo.

Wow. Still, just think how good you’ll be at the start of the game having had that extra practice...

That. Looks. Amazing.

What’s the game though? Is it just the OG game or is it that remake abomination that crept out the sewers a few years back?

This is from the article. It looks like it's many versions! This was recently released on the Dreamcast and that had loads of different versions to chose from too.
Quote:
Flashback on Switch will let players choose between the original 1993 gaming experience and “Modern” mode. The new mode has post-FX graphic filters, completely remastered sound and music, a brand new “Rewind” function that’s variable according to the level of difficulty, and tutorials for those who need a boost.

I might buy this because I haven't played it since the Amiga. Another World didn't age particularly well though.

In what way do you think it's aged, myp? Graphically it still looks as awesome as it did then (vectors help with that I guess) but I admit that the gameplay and the unexplained "trial and error" approach of it isn't great.

Fair enough. I have to admit, I love playing through it, but as a teenager I had to consult a walkthrough to even figure out how to get past the first few screens.

Kind of inevitable. A bunch of indie games release on the Switch, and do very well, so then all the other indie games release on Switch.

It's what happened with PS4, and it happened with the Xbox 360 (to a lesser degree because MS only had a limited number of XBLA "slots").

Not so. There's quite a few interesting looking titles. I like my shoot em ups so I'm going to buy Skies of Fury DX, Dragon Blaze and Rogue Aces. These have all been released elsewhere previously but they seem perfect for the Switch.

You're welcome! I had a quick go on Rogue Aces before I left the house this morning. It's just what I wanted.. A quick arcade type shooter that I can play in quick bursts.

MrsVision and the kids saw an advert for Labo the other day and said how good it looked... That was all the convincing I needed to order it.

I should be getting a free pencil case and set of markers with it too. Fingers crossed!

You will be buying another Switch once you realise this means yours will be commandeered by the family.

Ooohhh what a lovely little thing the Switch is!

Typical Nintendo online twattery my old Wi-U Nintendo account didn't work so I had to set up a new one for the Switch, but that was fairly painless as was the whole setup process in fairness.

I see 'Friends Codes' are still a thing

Rather embarrassingly I've borrowed Mario Kart 8 Deluxe off a friend and have just been playing that, haven't even put the Super Mario Odyssey cartridge in yet.

I'm clearly going to cave and buy Rayman Legends Definitive Edition off the store for £29.99 and pre-order DKCTF as well.

CURSE YOU NINTENDO for making such incredibly seductive hardware and software.

But it's so cute! :luv:

Ah welcome to switch world.. what's you're friend code?

friend codes are a bit less of a problem now though, since it can suggest your wii/3ds/fb/twitter friends... but since you now have a new account that might not help....

I'll grab it when I'm on the Switch later, Jnr has currently monopolised the telly!

I played through every 50cc Grand Prix in Mario Kart 8 yesterday evening, even though on the Switch version all cups are unlocked right out of the gate.

There's no real challenge to the 50cc Grand Prix, I got first place in every race, first time, even the tracks I haven't done before (the Switch version contains all the DLC from the Wii-U version, which adds four extra Grand Prix).

I was just playing it for the sheer joy of playing it, I know the 150cc Grand Prix will have me tearing my hair out with the DREADFULLY CHEATY AI in due course, but simply playing the game and being in the 'world' is a pleasure all in itself. I'll do the 100cc Grand Prix next, which should challenge a little bit.

It's basically the same as the Wii-U version, but the bump to 1080p and the 55 inch telly results in it looking almost impossibly gorgeous.

Yeah, playing the 50cc is a nice way to get to know the cups... iu was happy though playing the 150cc gave me the cups on lower levels...

actually won a 200cc cup recently...that was kinda hard..

ps... With you, there should be enough switches for a mario kart evening, shouldn't there?

Ever tried browsing the eShop? If you’re looking for a game generally but it isn’t a) in the eShop charts b) is a recent release or c) on a deal: You’re fucked.

I eventually found Dragon Blaze and DanMarku by tediously typing their names in like some kind of chump.

DanMarku is a bullethell SHUMP that I tried earlier and, frankly, I don’t think the Switch’s joy ins are good enough to play a twitchy bullet hell game. It might have been because I slapped it on the hardest difficulty and got my arse handed to me immediately. Nah, it’s the crappy joysticks.

I find it easier to just buy games via the website. For instance, if you follow this link, you should be able to just browse all the released downloadable Switch games.
