Ok. Simplified Rules:
- Clue must be about the meaning of the words. (Not letters in it or position on grid, for example, however letters and numbers as clues are valid if they refer to the meaning)
- The number after the clue can't be used as part of the clue
- You can't use any form of a word available on the table.
- Compound words are allowed, so long as they're valid words
- Names can be used, so long as they're existing names.
- Acronyms : allowed
- Rhyming clues - Allowed
- If you doubt a clue you want to use is valid, send a message to the opposing team captain (and me, although I won't be answering unless there's any disagreement - but I do need to know if an accord has been reached). Any answer accepted here cannot be later deemed invalid. If a clue protested and found to be invalid, your turn ends immediately, the other team captain may reveal a word if they choose and then commence their go.

Teams:

Team Gazchap:

Gazchap - Captain
Goddess Jasmine
Trooper
Malc
Craster
Grim...
Kovacs

Team Curiosity:

Curiosity - Captain
In The Beex Midwinter, Whoever the hell that is
Doc G
Mimi
Future Warrior
DavPaz

Grid of joyous words:

Game 3 Round 1.PNG

Red to go first. Once I've sent the wordlist to the team captains.

Yeah, as internet was down, I did the draw using dice. You were the third last person to be drawn. He had so many chances to not get fucked up, but the dice were determined.

Do note the small change w.r.t. rhyming clues.

It won't be horse and unicorn, surely? You'd use the clue "equine" or something.

I think it's "piano".

Slug and horse, horse first.

If anyone else from our team agrees, just pull the trigger. 3 is plenty.

I assume it's one of the non-captains that officially passes rather than me waiting for a majority vote?

Yeah. You can't pass. (else you could pass if they staryed going wrong)

Just needs someone to pass, no majority needed. (in bold or in * charactets)

I think it is seal and file as they are the letters of selfie (plus 1).

I don't actually think this, face and mine makes sense, but it could be phoenix as the phoenix is reborn from the flames as a metaphor for self actualisation.

Don't tell them that, Dave! If they're daft enough to guess something we've already guessed, I'm fine with that!

By rule, items already discovered shouldn't be visible anymore, or have any bearing on the game once removed.

I once heard Paul Merton talking about some comedian he really admired -- it might have been Barry Humphreys -- who was in a Radio 4 quiz where you had to complete a famous saying with a twist ending. His saying was "Too many cooks..." to which he immediately snapped back "...on television."
