Is everyone just doing the 3GB for £15 thing or is there a better deal available.

It will only be used for basic browsing, nothing exciting. It's mainly so my business partner can list things on Amazon.

O2 can get to fucking fuck. Don't use them. Vodaphone are supposed to be good.

I think Nirejhenge is talking about Three, not O2. Also, I have nothing but nice things to say about O2 since switching to them in January.

See my o2 thread. 8 years without fault, change tariff and it all falls apart. I think o2 have alot of different internal teams.

When I switched from o2 consumer to o2 business they put me through to their customer retention team to try and keep me on the consumer package. I explained to the woman that I wasn't leaving o2 but she was having none of it.

What kind of state is the company in to have one arm fighting the other? 02 consumer offered me everything short of unlimited blowjobs to stay with them but I was only switching tariff. Madness.

I'm talking about anyone. Three, O2, Vodafone or anyone. I just wondered who offered the best deal.

Well 3 do their 1GB for £10 a month if you're not going to be downloading.

You need to be careful with that even if you're not. It's about 35MB a day. The front page of BBC news is approaching 1MB. a Youtube vid can be 3MB/min+ etc.

Depends what you're using it for I believe there is a calculator on their site and you can check your usage. Not sure how easy it would be to cahnge tariffs, but don't see why it would be a problem to upgrade at any point.

Considering there's only £5 difference between 3GB and 1GB I think a 3GB deal will be best. It's not going to be doing anything other than loading Amazon pages so I doubt there will be much bandwidth usage. I'm tending to go toward the Vodafone deal of 'up to' 7.2Mb/s (I don't expect that speed but it gives a greater chance of getting something reasonable). It's still £15 but is an 18 month deal.

They probably include upload in the bandwidth limit.

Well I wouldn't touch O2 as there are rumours that their service is bandwidth limited.

I ended up going for 3 as they offered a trial period of 3 days and I couldn't get vodafone. Plus they were the nicest shop I went in and I needed to have the thing for tomorrow.

I switched ISPs the other day and, fearing that I'd get the same retention crap, phoned my previous provider 10 minutes before their office closed. They didn't ask me why I was switching, or if they could get me to stay, or if I'd considered package X or offer Y. Just gave me a MAC thingy and cancelled the account*. This is going to be my plan for dealing with pushy sales people from now on - call when they're least likely to care.

*The previous provider were Zen, who probably wouldn't have been pushy anyway as they were consistently great whilst I was with them. This may mean my plan is based on bad assumptions about just how pushy sales people can be, even when they're about to go home.
