The new Apple TV has a mode where you can ask Siri "what did they just say?" This triggers the device to rewind 15 seconds and replay that segment with subtitles on. This is a very clever idea.

I need this.

Probably oughtto adjust my sound settings or invest in a sound bar. I tend to use the TV's default 'cinema' mode. That or I should get my hearing checked.

TV speakers are generally crap, but unsurprisingly also generally ok at speech.

I tend to find that the answer is usually 'No' for most articles that have a headline like, 'Has Kepler Discovered an Alien Megastructure?'

They're a close second on my list of annoyances, right behind '<Insert name here> had no idea what was going to happen next,' which I believe we discussed recently.

Not quite an acceptable substitute. But you'll be able to sit without annoying your fellow travellers with all that 'Boom, Tssst, boom, boom tssst.' What's your genre of choice?

Go on, say Elgar, just to prove me wrong.

Headline,'If you go out drinking with Ian Betteridge, will he stand his round?'

Now, will he disprove his own law or is he a typical journalist who bums drinks off anyone he can?

I once wrote an entire article for TUAW where each subhead was a question and all the answers were blatantly no, just to wind him up.

(Also he absolutely paid for his round.)

Edit - thinking on, Betteridge's Law is like Murphy's Law: it doesn't work when deliberately invoked. If you're in a drought, washing your car doesn't make it rain.

At a big vendor seminar yesterday they put up a massive slide with 'Sneak Peak' written on it during the keynote. I wasn't quite fast enough to take a photo so I could tweet it to @stealthmountain

Dull is how i would describe it - I played a few hours of it and it never really grabbed me - some bits of it have potential (I liked the demo with the wandering around the school bit) but the game was very disjointed.

:this:

The bit with the hoards of zombo's coming out the ground and swarming you was very memorable for me.

And Resi 6 was a massive disappointment for a Resi game that followed two of the best entries in the series but the Worst Game of All Time? Not even close.

To be fair they set out their stall in the opening of the article and 'The 30 worst video games of all time' is a misnomer. They've chucked in some games that are genuinely infamous for being terrible but a lot of the controversial stuff is games that were massively hyped then turned out to be shit or just average.

Does anyone know where you can take secondhand clothing (to be paid for by the kilo) in South London? Asking for a friend who says their local place has closed down...

Well after seven years of flawless service I have decided to retire my Xbox 360 controller. To my absolute amazement (apart from being a bit grubby and slightly yellowed) it still works as flawlessly as it did the day I bought it.

I said it then (back in 2008 when I bought it) but I'll say it again; put simply it's the finest game controller ever made bar none.

Now? well I just bought a Xbone controller that comes with a wire you can use on the PC. Apparently some time very soon the wireless module for PC is going to drop so I will be all over that.

It seems a bit odd. Can't quite put my finger on it (haha) but it seems shorter and more stout. The D pad feels like mouse buttons and much snappier than before and the rear triggers are just a joy(pad).

Bring on Fallout 4 so I can test it out some :)
