My MP spoke in the debate yesterday. I don't think I'll be able to tolerate reading what she had to say until after Friday beers. Based on our correspondence, I don't think it's going to be particularly enlightening or likely to resonate in the Commons for decades to come.

Given I've called the last few major political events wrong, I'm going to look into the steam from my tea and declare that the result tonight will be AYES 230; NOES 360. 22 Labour MPs will vote with the government, and a similar amount will abstain. Jeremy Corbyn will fail to rise to the occasion, and the Prime Minister will take this as a win and press on regardless.

Y'know I've been thinking about this new car thing and I've decided to sit on it for a while, and the honest reason is waiting to see how Brexit pans out.

I know everyone says 'NO DEAL WILL NOT HAPPEN' but looking at the utter fucking cretins in charge, and the witlessly incompetent opposition, I do wonder if we'll manage to simply blunder into it as a nation, and then all of a sudden petrol costs £2 per litre and food prices go up by 25% (or whatever) and generally everything goes a bit to shit, and then I'd be like, 'You know what, having a chunk of cash in the bank to help weather this out would be pretty useful right now'.

There are so many villains in this whole Brexit piece (and I'm afraid Corbyn makes the list) it's easier to list people who aren't culpable rather than those who are, so I'm tempted to just say 'Fuck everyone', or as Jnr put it when I got in from work last night (she was getting cross about something not working as she wanted in Minecraft):

I couldn't be bothered to watch the speeches live, by the way. Had the TV on silent during the division just in case but they kindly waited until the end of the 'Archers' before annoucing the result. Really should have done a prophesy post for this, to reclaim some cred.

Not really. I thought Watson’s closing speech was pretty good. Gove was interesting in the sense he almost lost his shit, but he turns my stomach so I didn’t watch closely. Everyone else I listened to just said the blindingly obvious things along party lines (“will the PM take no deal off the table”, “will the PM go back to Brussels and negotiate the backstop”) which was deeply tedious and pointless.
