Everything as low as I could get it, besides running it at 800x600.

I think I could've dropped the draw distance a few more clicks, maybe.

I'm surprised it even loaded, to be honest.

I've got over it now, and am drinking a cup of tea in a state of non-alarm.

I'm going out for lunch with Mrs AE at twelve so I'd better not start troughing down on biscuits.

She's chatting downstairs with one of the other mums from school, I'm trying to limit my threesome fantasies as best I can by posting shit on here instead.

Playing Gay Tony and the golfing range torture shows a bit of originality missing from the other games. The golfing buggy shoot out turned out to be fun.

I hope they keep this up.

By the way, am I right that the city has changed some? I never noticed a golfing range before, plus there seems to be a lot more neon lights and bats that have opened up in town.

The golfing range was always there, as it's a landmark in New York too. Delete the DLC and load GTAIVvanilla and it's still there, was just never used.

I think the golf range was always there, it just wasn't possible to get inside. Likewise, I can't see Nico being allowed into Maisonette 9 unless he had Alex with him.

The story (as you noticed) starts towards the end of GTA IV's story which would perhaps explain the fact there's new songs on the radio, new TV shows and also some new cars available.

Is that a porno playing up there?

After being led to believe that Omid Djalili's role was 'hilarious', I was instead 'very disappointed'. Mohammed the car service driver is far better... I miss being able to call for him to pick me up in TBOTG. Trying to call the number for Roman's Car Service doesn't seem to work either.

That video is close to how GTA IV looks on my current top of the range ATI card in my beast of a gaming PC. They still haven't worked out how to support ATI yet. :D

I'd like to buy GTA V on release day, but I think i'm going to have to wait to see if they have learnt to code yet ;)

Funnily enough I've been watching CCTV footage of a nightclub today for a case and it made me think that the only thing that could make the club scenes even better was if they including the stalwarts of the clubbing scene. I was able to identify the following:

1) Energetic dancing moron. He knows all the moves and perform them with ease. All at once in one spazmatic flailing of arms and legs.

2) The lonesome slag surrounded by a pack of lecherous scumbags. There can only be one winner. It's like watching vultures circling a carcass.

3) The painfully drunk drunk. He stands in the middle of the dance floor with his coat on. He does not move.

4) Too old for clubbing woman. It's your mum.

5) Rude boy who is too cool to dance.

6) Loathsome knucklehead that just wants to fight and goes actively looking for aggro.

Finished.

That last scene when you jump out the plane. WOW! Finally, you realise how much work went into Liberty City, and you just free ride for a few minutes back to earth. That should have been the last thing you did in the main campaign, but I'm happy it'll be the last thing I ever do in Liberty City.

Right now, Luis is standing still, waiting for me to finish typing this. The sun is rising and the shadows of the building are moving quickly across the floor. This place was magical at times.

What a game.

If only they could sort out the variety of missions - maybe the last missions of RDR could start to be the norm rather than blasting someone's face off - then GTA V will be some awesome shit. More base jumping though I hope.

Loved every minute of the two DLC's.

Well fuck me, if Tim-sodding-Westwood didn't just get a shout out by Funkmaster Flex after Kanye's Love Lockdown. I don't think I'll see everything this game ever has to fully offer.

The ultimate desert island game.

Indeed.

Every time a girlfriend wanted to go to a comedy club and Gervais came on, you'd be glad to be on that fucking island, as far away as possible from the world that thought he was funny.

If you miss the radio when in the real world, There's An App For That: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... s.gtaradio

It's probably on other phones, too.

How does that work then? The app itself is only 11MB so it's clearly not putting all the music locally? And surely streaming it from a remote server would break all kinds of expensive copyright laws?

I'd say it has something to do with licensing. Yes, licensing. And the Internet. And fibre optics. And lasers. But probably just licensing.

There's no iPhone App though. Probably because of licensing.

Shame, I'd listen to it. Is there an 'app' for desktops?

I'd quite liket to listen to it....I once even plugged my PS2 into a friend's CD recorder and made a disc of Chatterbox from GTA3.

We played it in the TV&hi fi shop I was working in at the time. Disappointingly not many people seemed to notice but one or two did, and seemed confused. I told one person that it was satellite radio from the US.

GTAIV Complete Edition (GTAIV plus Lost & The Damned plus Gay Tony) is £6.24 in the Steam sale today.

If you've got a half-decent PC, give it a go.

If you want to preserve your GTAIV experience time to get it installed and turn off any kind of auto-update shenanigans.

I guess if you have the original disc version for PS3/360 you could simply not connect the console to the internet when playing it.
