I'll double check, but I was sure if you initially accepted, and then called back to cancel, it didn't matter, and that it was the straight refusal they didn't like.

It's supposedly true. Not really a 'feature' though.

I found I might as well go play darts or get drunk to kill the time waiting for the next car text to arrive.

Ignore them long enough and they stop calling you, once their liking of you drops below a certain percentage.

She sounds nice on the radio station, but I'm concerned she's a bit bonkers.

Her role in Natural Born Killers is what she's really like!

I used to really like her circa From Dusk Till Dawn, but because she's a scientologist I wouldn't touch her with a barge pole. *rubs massive distended stomach, coughs so that 3rd chin wobbles*

Unless you're commenting on our amazing ability to talk about Other Things in threads.

That's fantastic! Even opening the door flings it away!

This is one of my favourite series on Youtube, he's stopped using licenced music but he has started using the awesome graphics wrapper:

I didn't find the RDR ones as funny, but that is probably because I've never played it. Also, I loved the crazy shit with cars in GTA.

GTA 5 vehicles listed in Max Payne 3 files. Includes the return of BMXs apparently. Quite a few trains too.

My god, YerpGonk's webdesign person should be taken out and shot. Along with most of the writers.

*peeks at trains*

Cablecar suggests either San Fierro again, or maybe the funicular railway in LA (Angels Flight, it's in LA Noire)

Lighty makes me hope for a speeder, unless they mean a light rail car (both LA and SF have those)

In any event, all that suggests a huuuuuge world and that means the same endless variety of things to do in the current Perkies Best Game Ever: San Andreas.

I've been looking at Episodes from Liberty City for ages. I even thought about downloading the DLC. But when I saw the Complete Edition for PS3 £5 cheaper than just the Episodes thanks to GAMEs terrible ad hoc pricing I couldn't say no.

I've been playing The Lost and the Damned first and it's ace.

You realise a few things that GTA does better than anyone else in the world:

1) Cut scenes - concise, filled with personality, great lifelike movement and fabulously emotive talky speak-face words.

2) Kerbs - touch a kerb at speed = fiery death, just like it should be.

And

3) Emergent play. There's a lot of talk about this but GRA got there years before anyone else. I've had loads of moments so far running from the fuzz, blowing myself up, accidentally causing a tsunami of destruction. Glorious.

If they could sort out the shooting and walking, GTAV will be awesome.

Ahhhh, that was glorious. I jacked some guy for his SUV to watch him go scuttling camply down the street screaming out his face hole.

As he ran past a taxi the taxi's passenger opened his door and knocked him clean out! The timing was awesome.

Not unlike the time I was hunting pigeons, and I pulled up onto the sidewalk to try and spot one. A pedestrian took exception to my parking job and ran up to punch me... just as a police car saw him. The cops leapt out and arrested him!

The Lost and the Damned done. Reminded me a lot of Rockstar's The Warriors. Really good fun and it was ace getting back to Liberty City despite it actually being the weakest city created for GTA. There something about it that doesn't match up to the rest: too urban, too sprawling, lacking personality and charm, too complex, too flat, lacking enough landmarks...etc.

And the minimap is too small and too close when driving at speed.

Yeah, it's yonks old. So what? Modern games are rubbish.

And the camera is sometimes a little bit too low behind the car (GTA3 and VC had it right, GTA:SA was too low too) when you're driving.

I liked TLAD except

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
The story kinda ran out of steam toward the end, and I lamented the loss of the cool biker hangout to wander around playing minigames

I love TBOGT, you'll see. The nightclubs are brilliantly realized.

I had a little try of Gay Tony.

The nightclub was pretty cool (Kane & Lynch still holds the top spot for ambience, mind). I especially liked the dancing mini game for some ungodly reason. I think the barnstorming music had a lot to do with it. I don't know what the track was but I wanted to go party right there and then.

I got sucked off as course.

For those of a PC disposition, the GTA IV complete pack is available on Steam for £6.24...not a bad price.

Hitman: Blood Money also did a good nightclub. With the added bonus of you being able to open fire on the people within it.

You don't need a mental PC by modern standards, just make sure you're packing a quad-core CPU and a graphics card with at least 1GB of RAM.

Under no circumstances expect to run it on any sort of laptop.

It's a stunningly different experience from the 360/PS3 version, it really is, and that's before you start looking into the mods that are available for it.

It's nothing personal, but the recent masculinization and aggressive parlance of the PC world causes me no end of amusment: "Rig", "packing quad cores", "heat sinks" and so on. There are probably other things, but I can't recall them right now.

And they've been called rigs for decades - something to do with mounting servers in racks, I think.
