I tried going back to the single player of this tonight, and realise quite why I drifted away from it, I appear to be most craptacular.

I'm on the mission

get seom drugs out of "the old hospital". I killed all the dudes, got the drugs, then NOOSE came and kicked my arse to the heavens. Running from them got me shot by a police boat, then a police car, and standing taking them out got me shot by the helicopters (and/or the men).

Tips?

Have a good escape car ready.

Then RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN.

Then DRIIIIIIIIIVE.

And make sure it isn't night.

God damnit. Why doesn't GTA4 have a level select?
I want to play that level NOW.

I just pegged it straight out of the hospital, jumped in a car, and fucked off. Didn't shoot a single copper.

I'll give it another go later. I was getting slightly annoyed at when re-trying having to drive my arse all the way back over there because Roman wouldn't give me a bloody taxi.

There's plenty of health and armour pickups in there, so make sure you grab 'em before running in case you have trouble getting into a car.

Hello chap, I've just trawled through the thread to find the advice that everyone else gave me when I was stuck on that mission - hope this helps.

It's from the spoiler tag where I say 'STUPID FUCKING MISSION' onwards.

Thats the mission I found hardest in the game. I completed it by running out the hospital and jumping into the sea, where a speed boat is waiting for you.

Ooooh! If true this is awesome!

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/23/rumor-gta-iv-dlc-brings-quarantine-zombies/

Due to an advert on the rockstar site people are guessing/hoping that the DLC features a Zombie Outbreak.

Yes. Fucking. Please.

Thats not a new island or anything - but that is awesome.

Gets a lot of added weight when there is this video of somebody unlocking a Zombie in multiplayer ("DLC" assets on disk again ?:| But then Zombies so conflicted.....)

You get the zombie skin from the achievement for killing a developer viral thing. *buffs zombie suit*

I've only just ventured back onto Xbox Live for the first time in weeks, so this might be old news. I can't see it mentioned here, though, so it's probably worth mentioning. An "Xbox Originals" download of GTA: San Andreas is now up for 1200 Points. It does seem to be eversoslightly polished/fixed for running on the 360, and it loading from the HD is a nice improvement on the original's loading times.

All perfectly moot if you're still able to play the original version, but for me having just completed GTA4 and starting to get a bit bored of the online modes, owning a copy of the game only on the PS2 but also owning a comprehensively knackered PS2, this is a very good thing. It'll certainly help to pass the time until the DLC comes along.

You can pick up pretty much every "Original" for less that what 1200 points will run you in your local GameStation, though. And a DVD doesn't waste a huge chunk of disk space.

Not as yet. legalalalal forms filled out, but they may require up to 128 days for manufacture and delivery, apparently.

San Andreas remains the daddy. I found an old tape I made of me pissing around in it - using the crane and the import ship, I loaded a car onto the back of a truck and then attempted to drive it from the docks in San Fierro to my safehouse in Las Venturas.

This is a game where you can steal an airliner, crash it into the Transamerica Pyramid, escape the police by hijacking a train, stop the train in the desert, have a gunbattle in a ghost town before scrambling through Area 51 to a small airfield to jump into a Harrier and have a dogfight over the Las Vegas strip. While dressed as a pimp.

If it had been a 360 release, that would've probably been worthy of an achievement. For 1GP.

I shudder to think what the achievements in San Andreas would have been.

I shudder even further when I realize that I almost certainly have 'earned' most of them given the amount of time I put into the PS2 and Xbox versions. Max every girlfriend? Done. Conquer every single territory in Los Santos? Yes. WILLINGLY PLAY THE DANCING MINIGAME? Unfortunately so.

Even with infy sprint I still didn't manage to win a triathlon. Remember when GTA games had loads of stuff to do in them? Ahhh... *wistful*

They've missed a trick by not adding Acheeevos to Xbox originals.

They could have made a fortune off Dimrill alone.

Remember that GTA IV is the first game with a new engine. I expect by the time they've done two more games using RAGE that it'll be as expansive as San Andreas.

Is the map as big as San Andreas, though? Three huge cities, with huge expanses of countryside in between? Can you steal combine harvesters? Trains? Tractors? RVs?

Map isn't as big, no, and there's little to no countryside. No combines or trains, but yes to tractors, JCBs, RVs and planes.

San An, in the new Engine, with Achievements. Piece of piss, surely? Dev time to quillins of pounds ratio should be in their favour for this one. I'd pay £75 for it.

It'd take them ages to recreate the art assets for the entirety of San Andreas in the new engine. Higher resolution, for a start.

Actually, it probably wouldn't even fit on one dual-layer DVD.

How long before some 360 games start getting released on two discs with compulsory installs, folks?

Didn't someone already do a HD mod of the PC version? I'm sure I read about it somewhere.
