My gf's been in the polling station over an hour, they wouldn't let her vote, and told her she couldn't. I walked out as I didn't think I could contain my anger for much longer.
Why not?
Wild guess is issues to do with nationality?

I feel sorry for my girlfriend today, being reg'd to vote over here she only has the option to vote for British parties she can't stand rather than the saner German ones. Even the UK party which is directly related to the German party she is a member of is too right-wing for her tastes, let alone the others.
Maybe I'm tired, but isn't "wouldn't let her vote" different from "wasn't able to vote for the party she wants to"?
If she's voted before in the UK, then it shouldn't be a problem now, unless there was an error with registration or something?
I turned up to vote in two places and it turns out I wasn't registered in either. In Shipley. IN double cufffed shirt and brogues. With my work hair. Oops.
Nope, wouldn't let her vote full stop.
She's registered to vote over here, has votes plenty of times since I've known her. Non-British EU citizens can't vote for general elections, but can definitely vote in all others. As far as she and I could tell it might've been due to moving recently, but AFAIK she sorted the paperwork. Bureaucracy is a German talent, after all.
(Yeah, she's not happy with the choice of parties over here, but then plenty of British people feel exactly the same.)
