It's also Brenda's Big Day Out day today. Whilst it feels like ages since we last had one, I have little enthusiasm to spend too much time following the occasion this time round

He has now profusely apologised. Clearly someone in his ear was shitting themselves that they were gonna get into trouble.

Good on Comrade Neville though.

Fair point. “Racism against Jews, bad. Against brown people, good”.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Provided there is irrefutable evidence that the alleged perp is guilty of a heinous crime. Perhaps we could have a dedicated TV channel for the public to vote for whether they get the chop or not. Virgin media remotes already have thumbs up/down buttons which would be ideal for this purpose.

This is vacuous twatwaffle, at my most kindest. Deffo not getting my vote. Would take Starker and/or Philips. Continuity Corbyn candidates would be a further step back and get a monstering in the press. Had a 12 year old written this, we would indulge them

Quote:
Under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn we’ve drawn upon the collective knowledge and experience of that movement to develop a radical, ambitious socialist vision for the future. This is our greatest strength, and we need a leader who comes from and will stay true to that movement.

Mate, I'm not sure if you're keeping up on current events, but you just got your asses kicked.

Quote:
We’ve also, at times, been too close to the establishment we are meant to be taking on – whether cosying up to Rupert Murdoch, joining forces with David Cameron in the Better Together campaign in 2014

The first: newspapers tend to back who they think will win, and it makes sense to extend some warmth toward them, second, showing it is possible to be working with political enemies to achieve a common goal is a good thing.

Quote:
To win, we need to rebuild Labour as an insurgent force and offer a vision for a new democracy. We must go to war with the political establishment, pledging a constitutional revolution that sweeps away the House of Lords, takes big money out of politics and radically shifts power away from Westminster.

It'll be stupid:

1) The "continuity Corbynism" thing will stick. And won't get shaken. She's too close and too much of a darling to the leader for her credibility to be anything but shot to the voting public.
2) Corbynism has been soundly rejected, witnessed by the terrible performance at every election, local, European and general.
3) She's an idiot, after saying the policies she wrote weren't sold better.
4) Having her isolates the centre where the swing voters are to win elections.
5) As wookie said, if they want to play politicians in their boudoir, this is the way about it.
6) "Hi, I'm MaliA. I noticed that there were only 15 people present at the last meeting and many officer positions are effectively vacant. Let me tell you story..."
7) she's not Phillips, and cooper would have also been great

I'm feeling so apathetic about politics right now that my main source of news on the Trump impeachment trial is Steven Colbert's daily monologues. The outcome isn't going to be a surprise, and the Senate Republicans aren't even pretending to be impartial or take it as seriously as Clinton's one.

I watched Keir Starmer's acceptance video and felt that he has the gravitas that Corbyn and Johnson lack. A little stilted initially, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for a new medium. In normal times he'd be leading the headlines and building up to a good first outing at PMQs but these aren't and he hit the right tone for someone wanting to be in government.
