Complaints about sharp practice in Bradford in recent years are hugely varied, running the gamut from playground-style jostling between parties on the campaign trail to postal vote fraud.

There have been claims of anonymous leaflets being dropped through letterboxes in the dead of night, making personal attacks on candidates.

There are often complaints of large groups of political activists gathering outside polling stations on election day, which Ms England acknowledged was “not helpful” behaviour.

“I have the power to move them on - and we do,” she says.

Very occasionally, there are allegations of violence.

Whilst looking for something else I just came across a short Westminster Hall debate on homeopathy and the NHS held at the end of March that I hadn't noticed. I say 'debate', but it's more like a rant by David Tredinnick and I gave up trying to count the number of fallacies he employs to justify the woo.

I don't see what's surprising about Corbyn being popular. He's not turned out to be a particularly effective leader of the party but he's a decent, principled man and I can very much understand his appeal as a politician. (His voting record on women's issues in parliament, for example, is far better than May's.)

If you can look beyond much of the media's hatred for him, and actually see the man himself and the policies of his party - there's a lot to like.

Actually, it seems to be a sort of brainless middleclass twatbag on the whole. There's definitely a correlation between anti-vaxxers and quinoa intake.

It's not a hard mental leap to make from being (usually rightly) outraged by the behaviour of megaglobal sinister corporations to decide that big pharma is just after extracting as much money from your corpse as possible.

I'm sure I posted on here about the idiot now-ex friend of ours who got bladder cancer and tried curing it by drinking her own piss. Her cancer doctor basically sacked her and said "look there's no point me wasting appointments on you if you're just going to ignore everything I say". Who, by weird coincidence, was also the surgeon who did Ruth's op. She's also the one who set up a free school with her hippy friends, none of whose kids have had immunisations. Funnily enough, they were ground zero for a whooping cough outbreak in Stroud. Having seen babies in hospital with whooping cough, this is one of the more irresponsible things you can do to put other people's kids at risk. Hence her now being an ex friend ( she didn't die, Ruth spoke to her dad, who put pressure on her to have an actual bloody operation and chemo so she didn't die and leave her daughter parentless, and she's now cancer free) God I fucking hate hippies.

I'm getting really fed up of this "people just need to stop believing the media" bullshit that is thrown at everyone that questions Corbyn. I am sure that he is a lovely chap and the fact that he isn't a dick with his expenses, votes on women's issues etc does give him "voter appeal" but you said it yourself: he's not turned out to be a particularly effective leader. THAT'S that problem, not the media backlash, not the "propaganda". I would love nothing more than to vote a genuinely nice guy in but what's the point if he's not going to fucking achieve anything?
