anyone have this on PC? how is it?

Since the console versions are already very solid and target (and mostly achieve) 60FPS you don't get any ZOMG AMAZEBALLS uplifts on PC, but there are a fair few boosts to visual fidelity, with the option to move past 1080p to 1440p or 4K, if your PC is up to it.

(1080p at console-parity settings appears to be achievable with a dual-core i3 and 750Ti, which is budget hardware territory.)

There are some screenshots on that Eurogamer piece that show the differences, and TBH I'd have a hard time spotting them without reading the accompanying text telling me what I was looking for.

The main win for me would be keyboard + mouse controls because I'm well cack-handed with a pad when it comes to this sort of game.

£46 on Steam at the moment! I'll wait for a sale.

Yeah, I managed to do a lot better on Ground Zeroes with mouse aiming. S rank is a doddle when you can pop of tranq headshots with ease, even at distance.

Love is doing a mission, busting into the room where the targets are having a meeting, reflex-headshotting all of them with the tranq pistol, then systematically knocking out the entire village of soldiers and fultoning the whole lot back to base.

If paying real world money for stupid, frivolous in-game items just isn't enough for you then how about paying real world money for boring, safe in-game items? MSG5 has you covered with the ability to buy actual fucking insurance.

If, like me, you didn't know what the fuck actually went on with Hideo and Konami, someone has helpfully done an ELI5
Quote:
He had a serious "falling out" with them. Konami has basically gotten rid of its AAA development studio to focus on mobile games. MGS5 was more or less the last AAA game the company was working on. It appears to have gone over schedule, and rather than give Kojima the extra year he needed to finish it they just pushed it out. The result was that the last 1/3 of the game is just outright missing and the game ends without a single plot having been fully resolved.
Kojima's response to this was to sneak some stuff onto the collectors edition DVD that basically contains all the half finished cut scenes from the final area while making it abundantly clear that the game was released 2/3 finished against his wishes.
Doing that probably pissed Konami off, so they are using the fact that he is still technically on a long term employment contract with them to prevent him from going to the awards ceremony. How they are doing this depends on how his contract with them is worded (which no one other than Kojima and Konami are going to know). But for example, its possible the contract grants Komani final approval on all marketing, and they are claiming that attending the awards ceremony constitutes "marketing" for the game.
Ultimately though it doesn't matter exactly what provision of the contract it is that they are using to prevent him from attending, at the end of the day he is on a long term employment contract with them and something in there allows them to stop him from attending. If he does attend he'll have breached his contract, which would almost certainly subject him to pretty severe monetary penalties.

Their treatment of Kojima is obviously the most high profile example of their internal vindictiveness but, just in case people weren't aware, really it's their (alleged) outright fucking bizarre management of ordinary staff that's breath-takingly fucked up:

What you mean that did not immediately scream Castlevania to you ?

The images are from the Castlevania 'erotic violence' pachinco machine - since Komani own the rights and the actual creator of the series is going to kickstart his own version (Bloodstained - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ig ... -the-night ) - Konami are going to be Konami

I didn't read that and just clicked on the second trailer. It was a confusing mix of emotions and pelvic thrusting. I wonder how many pantless Japanese play panchinco.

I own The Phantom Pain, only did the first couple of missions but then heard it was incomplete, so stopped.

Does the Definitive Edition solve those issues? Or does it just have unnecessary tat bundled in it?

Because the definitive edition is £6 at the moment.

No idea about what’s bundled in, but the argument about it being “incomplete” is a load of old bollocks from fanboys who were mad that the story has some dangling loose threads and a planned boss fight with a character who just fucks off midway through the game was never put into the game. Just play it and enjoy what’s there. It’s reet fun. Plus I liked the batshit end.

I’ve had it on the PS4 for years but just felt too intimidated by the length to play (toyst). I became somewhat obsessed by Ground Zeroes and put about 20 hours into that one level. Now I’ve got it on PC I might try it soon.

Same to a certain degree with the new Hitman. I put about 25 hours into that one level they released free earlier in the year. Something about repeating the same level over and over with different scenarios really appeals to me for some reason.

Having acquired a switch and BOTW and Mario Odyssey, I of course decided now is the time to get into MGS5.

Its bloody hard/I'm shit at it. I'm only on one of the.mission extracting the man who built my arm.

I think my inclination is to want to stealth murder everyone to clear out an encampment, but I'm utterly useless at not being rumbled, so I suspect the best course of action is to avoid all enemy contact until absolutely necessary.

Also, the controls are taking some getting used to. So many!

It's enjoyable though.

I remember getting Ridge Racer 1 with my PS1, and I must have played that one track more than the tracks in any subsequent instalment combined.

I guess they really put the work in when it's one level. See also: Devil/s Cra/ush. The pinball one.
