Yeah think I’ve seen most Guy Martin stuff, I’m guessing you saw the record breaking tractor stuff?
Turned the Hedwig and the Angy Inch episode of Riverdale off. Was just too annoying.
Is it over? Did it finally beat you?
He’s come to his senses.
On netflix, check out "Into the night". An aeroplane gets hijacked and made to fly (checks notes) west because if the sun comes up everyone does because of reasons. We're two episodes out of six in and I really like it.

Everyone does what? Tell us man!
Everyone is, Dave, did.

We started this last night and it’s a great premise. The dubbed audio was shit though, so subtitles from here on in.

Also new, Hollywood. The golden age of post war cinema with plenty of sex scenes.
New Looney Tunes cartoon in 2020!? What a world we live in.

I wonder if anyone had any suggestions. My Ma’s favourite program is Criminal Minds. She has watched all but the final series but had to cancel her TV thing recently because of COVID/money etc, so she has not seen the final season.

Now, I’ve checked and it’s on Amazon Prime, which I do have. Shirt of just giving her my password, which I can do if I have to, but would mean that we couldn’t watch TV here, I guess... (?) is there anyway of watching it inexpensively (I looked to see how much it would cost to buy, but it’s crazy expensive).
You can be logged in in more than one place with Prime. Should be ok to give her your password
Really? I did not know this.
Gah, so apparently the final season is season 15, and it only runs to 14 on Prime. :(
But I imagine you can purchase the final season though? That's how they get you!
No, it’s not on there. I can’t see that it’s available on DVD yet either, as that’d be another option.

It's only just finished in the states, I don't think it's been released anywhere over here yet.
Ah, it said it finished February 19th in the US, but I’m not sure of the timescale for things like that.

It's different for every series and program unfortunately. :(
Never mind. I’ll try to remember to keep looking for it, and hopefully when it’s out I’ll be and to either get her to sign onto my Amazon or get her a DVD set. From the way she was talking I thought it’d already been on Sky, rather than go on a 2hr wild goose chase :D

I think you were right, it looks like it Premiered on Sky Witness Feb 10th. Never heard of it though sorry! :D
Mimi she might like Mindhunter if she likes Criminal Minds, I really like both of those shows and there are two seasons of Mindhunter on Netflix.

I’ve just asked if she’s seen that and she hasn’t, so she’s queued it up to watch. Thank you :luv:
Having finished it last night I'm happy to proclaim Devs really, really fucking good. Aside from the plot and characters the actual visual and sound design is something else and almost worth the price of entry alone. Though it's possibly worth noting that if you haven't been exposed to the sort of concepts hard sci-fi often espouses then the central tenet that

might induce a full blown existential crisis; as it did for Mrs B during last night's final episode. That's probably not a spoiler as it's discussed as a philosophy even from pretty early on but I'm erring on the side of caution here.
Yeah it's definitely good TV.
Gary Busey: Pet Judge is quite the thing. Administering level headed sense to animal arguments. (Amazon prime)
Has anybody watched any of Titan Games? It’s like Gladiators but dialled you to 12. The challenges are really tough, and the competitors are amazing. And it’s hosted by The Rock.
Donna and I binged it last weekend, it's really good fun and a health and safety nightmare! :D
We’ve only seen the first episode (which on Netflix is a double episode), but will definitely watch more. Weird how one of the matches isn’t really shown. ‘Whilst you were looking at adverts there was another challenge, here’s just 10 seconds of footage and we aren’t going to tell you about those contestants, and one has been knocked out of the competition’.
we also watched it all, Katie loves the Rock and she loves watching people be strong

honestly thought this was going to be a gangbang, then a midseason break of 9 months before a weird crossover game of deal or no deal and cluedo.

So, has anyone else watched "Devs"? Just finished the last episode, excellent stuff (to explain what it is beyond 'shady Tech firm are up to secret stuff' would spoil it)...Alex Garland is really creating some good stuff.

We're halfway through and it's fucking magnificent. Ron Swanson has really gone off the reservation.

The inevitable low-budget UK remake should, given the permanent absence of Bruce Forsyth, be hosted by Dale Winton.

Rylan Clark is doing Supermarket Sweep, so I'm sure he can be involved.
Dummy: Anna Kendrick's character discovers that her boyfriend has a sexdoll and can't contain her curiosity about it. When she sneaks into his room to check it out it starts speaking to her; shenanigans ensue.

Things that are unique about it:

  • The boyfriend is Dan Harmon of Community and Rick & Morty fame. I mean it's not Dan Harmon acting in it, the character is him because the whole show is written by his fiance based on an event that actually happened in their relationship. This gives the whole thing an amusing meta aspect with stuff like everyone in it gushing about how funny Dan Harmon is every time they find out who her boyfriend is and nonsense like this. One character even works out who her boyfriend is after she mentions he's a famous writer with a foot fetish; it turns out Dan Harmon is very open about his sexual proclivities on his real-life podcast.
  • It was made for that stupid Quibi app thing so all the episodes are, at most, ten minutes long. Which means the entire thing can be watched in about an hour, as we did last night. I'd never even heard of it because Quibi sounds stupid as a concept but Mrs B downloaded it because she has a massive things for Anna Kendrick.

Outwith that, it was very funny and quite touching in places. Recommended.
Lovecraft Country is really good. Starting as a serious drama about black life in 50s America, things take a turn for the worse.
Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
That's very much on my list of things to watch soon, but I am currently in the middle of what feels like about a dozen tv series

1 ) Heroes - just started season 2 with my youngest son
2 ) Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Half way through season 1 with my daughter
3 ) Cursed - 2 episodes to go in season 1 (on my own)
4 ) Warrior Nun - about 4 episodes in (on my own)
5 ) Fort Salem - about 6 episodes in (on my own)
6 ) Gotham - a few episodes into season 3 (on my own, but my son occasionally joins me as he has already seen it all to the end)
7 ) Cloak and Dagger - about 5 episodes in (with my youngest son)
8 ) The Witcher - 1 episode in
9 ) Red Dwarf - near the end of season 4 (with my daughter)

So maybe not quite a dozen, but still a lot, so I think I need to finish a few more before deciding on watching more (or just give up on them)

I have also watched Dummy now, and, yeah, I enjoyed it.

It wasn't what I'd call great, but it was entertaining and oddly compelling.

Also you get to play "spot Dan Harmon's mates doing cameos".
Am I late to the "Quebec is covering Brooklyn 99" party? Escouade 99. If your French is up to it, you'll get more from the trailer than I did but I still, um, got some of the idea.

Finished Ozark S3 last night. That's a show that's improved with every series.

The characters have become so much deeper, and Jason Bateman has pulled an (admittedly less) incredible (but 500% subtler) Walter White. He does an immense job of being completely absent and emotionally disconnected in any interaction. The cogs are always whirring, but he's always inscrutable and implacable.

Also, I want to live in the Ozarks.

Soundtrack is ace too.

Phew. Just finished S3 here, too. Occasionally I felt it meandered, but the pay-offs are worth it, particularly the end of the season. And the way it becomes, I hope to continue,

, is quite something.
Ted Lasso. Simple, uncomplicated fun. US coach comes to manage UK football team. Irrepressible US enthusiasm and charm meets UK deference etc. If those things annoy you, you'll hate it. I love it.
Virtually no-one will care, but THAD FUCKIN' CASTLE is going to play Jack Reacher in the upcoming TV series.
