You'll know. If you're not sure then you haven't made it that far yet.

Ordered a copy. Amazon have run out so between that and me skinflinting on the delivery I probably won't get it for 2 weeks or so.

Which is dandy as I'm up to my eyeballs with Secret Project X.

Couple of weird things have just happened. Set up a hangout with Jimmy, except he doesn't show up on the map, so I have no idea where to pick him up from. When I call him back I can only cancel.

I also found a random event in the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness, but everyone was dead apart from a few enemies slumped by their cars. Even the guy I was meant to give the package back to was wasted. I ended up $25k richer though.

I meant to say that as well. I went by myself and I don't regret a thing.

I just took ages trying to fly a bloody helicopter. What a nightmare! First time I've felt annoyed and frustrated at this, it really is unnecessarily difficult.

The flying stat makes a massive amount of difference with the helicopters, but even using Trevor who has the highest they're a bit of a pain in the arse.

I've found it happens in the planes as well. I think it's turbulence, but they've dialed it up too much.

Post subject:  Re: GTA V - stand aside, pretenders

I don't know what they were thinking. In any case when they encounter turbulence planes and helicopters don't sway from side to side like fucking pendulums. Ridiculous.

I've not tried a helicopter, but I've never had any trouble with a plane.

I flew a Lear from the city up to Trevor's airstrip and landed it fine (twice, actually - because I went to the wrong airstrip the first time :belm: ).

Flying a plane was no problem for me either but the helicopter is a nightmare. I was working my way through the flying schol lessons and passed all the plane ones first time, then just hit a wall with the first helicopter one. Using LB and RB to steer rather than the stick hardly helps because pushing forwards causes a huge amount of wobble. I was trying as Michael though so that might explain some of it.

Very minor spoilers about early missions with aircraft in.

I've done a mission flying the helicopter as Trevor, and didn't really have that much trouble with it. I had more troubles banking with the plane at low altitudes (when you have to fly under the radar to drop weapons) than I did with the 'copter

I'm finding that helicopters are fine for getting from A to B, but every mission with them involves 'hover exactly here at this exact height' which is a nightmare.

The flying lessons at the airport were very straightforward. Apart from the two helicopter ones which took a fair few attempts and much gnashing of teeth.

I got into a bit of trouble when I was going to the flying school. Not story spoilers, just explaining why I got into trouble.
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I set a waypoint for the school symbol then drove directly there. Got to a barrier which I drove through then a gate which opened as I approached, so I drove in. Immediatley got a three start wanted rating and got into a huge police chase which saw me climbing a building at the docks, shooting down the helicopter then hiding on the roof 'til the heat cleared. When I returned to the flying school, I realised the stairs to enter it where right next to the barrier I'd gone through and I had in fact attempted to drive straight onto the runway area. Oops.

Micro Transaction stuff 'leaked'

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013- ... s-revealed

Quote:

Grand Theft Auto Online micro-transaction pack prices revealed

You'll be able to spend between £1.99 and £13.49 in Grand Theft Auto Online for individual packs of in-game money, people with early access to the mode have told Eurogamer.

The four GTA Online currency cards spotted yesterday in the code of Rockstar's own site are still to be officially announced, but we understand they will have UK prices of the following amounts:

$100,000 Red Shark Cash Card - £1.99
$200,000 Tiger Shark Cash Card - £3.49
$500,000 Bull Shark Cash Card - £6.99
$1,250,000 Great White Shark Cash Card - £13.49

These details originate from a source with early access to Grand Theft Auto 5's multiplayer mode. While details may still be tweaked prior to its final release, this is how things currently stand less than a week before it goes live.

Simply put, the more expensive the cash pack, the better the exchange rate you'll get. But it's also worth noting that while GTA Online uses the same world as GTA5, prices for in-game items do vary between the two.
1

A car that costs $1 million in the game's single-player mode can be bought for much less in Online - more like $150,000. Properties are also cheaper - the most expensive you can own is $400,000.

And you can only own a single property. When you trade houses you get a rebate on the place you've moved from, so you can re-use your in-game credit to some extent.

But while some things are cheaper, others are more expensive. You'll pay more for weapon and car mods, and most are initially out of normal financial reach. Yet any potential access to these items can only be unlocked when your character ranks up.

This means that, even with extra money from cash packs, a low-level character will have few options to initially spend it on. Players start with the option to buy just pistols and a single set of tyres.

GTA Online's micro-transactions may provide less of a boosting mechanic than first expected, then, although limited-time consumables will also be available.

Full details of the mode will be revealed sometime before its public launch on 1st October.

Rockstar has yet to respond to Eurogamer's request for comment.

My main problem in getting into the flight school was the very distracting and incredibly fun stunt jump right by the flight school entrance. I think I hit a height of 180ft or so...

Supermarkets are still the cheapest - Tesco , Sainsburys or Asda

Tesco is £38 for just the game (we regularly get £3 off a £30 spend vouchers through the door so that brought it down to £35 for me) - you can get it for £33 if you buy points at the same time (but thats no longer quite as good a deal as it was before as they will turn into almost the same amount of cash in your account and must be used in the next 12 months)

Sainsburys & Asda are £39.99

Grim... wrote:

Mine just timed out at the race so i gave up - i wandered around a little but couldn't do very much - i think you must have to compete in that first race before you can do anything else

Still, I got the world record for the race - much like many other people, I suspect.
