the tensions since the first episode has been more and more about the personal relationships and individual characters and I think its been great. The ending was incredible, I only clicked as to what was about to happen when the silence was broken by the signal moan and I realised who it had to be. The only person who could have taken the shot was Rick as well. Shane is mental! Can't wait to see more to see what the farm folks reaction is to this.

I think I enjoyed this half of series 2 more than the whole of series 1.

I watched the last 4 eps (to get to the mid series break-point) in one sitting on Saturday night, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was quite slowly paced, and I think I might have found that frustrating if I was watching one per week, but knowing that I had them all ready for that 'just one more episode before bed' style of viewing mitigated that. The slow pace, for me, helped with the feeling of creeping dread and the small group being really quite isolated - waiting for something bad to happen.

Some of it was also quite harrowing, and the end was (as said already) excellent. I'm quite glad Lady T didn't watch it with me as she would've been in floods I reckon.

Caught up with this seasons episodes.

Watched the last three back to back and they've been the best thing I've watched on TV for ages.

Fucking brilliant.

It was a little slow paced when drip-fed at one episode a week, but holy crap, what a payoff.

We too have back to backed the last four episodes. Will do so again with the second half of the series I think. Makes me question why I ever choose to watch a series once per week.

When is the rest of the series back on FX?

Why have they split it?

It's the US way. And because we get series nearly new now, we end up with their scheduling.

Isn't it down to some ludicrous, but country wide and accepted, attempt to game the ratings systems by keeping their new best shows back for the February sweeps? Or is it some other equally stupid but totally coincidental reason?

I thought it was something to do with all series having a mid season cliffhanger so that they can drop it from the schedules of it bombs, or bring it back a few weeks later if it doesn't. 24 was an exception in that they never took a break, but episode 12 was always the end of a major storyline with the new bad guys revealed in the last 2 minutes.

So the season started back up in the US last night and is on FX this Friday

Two interesting links - the 'box set' DVD case

http://geek-news.mtv.com/2012/02/10/wal ... mcfarlane/

And an interview with Frank Darabont on some of the ideas he had for the new season (sounds like that would have been a great episode)

Aye carumba! Just watched the first episode back.

Apart from the excessive amount of whispering causing the adverts to seem even bloody louder than usual, very good!

When you watch a tv show on the television, they have commercial breaks. Sometimes the bumper ads will cut in unexpectedly, and since you've doubled the normal volume of the telly (because everyone whispers on the show), it fecking well blares out.

I've really enjoyed the Walking Dead this season. Much, much better than the last one. We almost didn't bother with it at all. Homeland was pretty good but I thought it all went a bit too far into 24 type silliness towards the end.

It's definitely been better than the first series. Still not great, though. Every character (with the possible exception of Daryl) is either boring (Rick), completely unsympathetic (Shane) or both (Lori).

I'm staying in tonight and can't wait to see the penultimate episode. There's only one way this haven away from the remnants of civilisation/zombie infestation can go. I look forward to an escalation of terror and violence.

The level of zombie acting in this whole series has been nothing if not extraordinarily exemplary. Having watched the baby blue faces and limp boneless acting of zombie classic Dawn of the Dead in the week you really appreciate how the actors have thrown themselves into the role of menacing undead. Utterly believable whereas the human characters struggle to muster much emotional involvement.

Still the best thing on TV.

I never watch the 'in next week's exciting episode' segements at the end of a show.

I bet you read Hello magazine to find out the plotlines of the Soaps 3 months in advance too.

MrsA will watch something, enjoy it, then go and read the episode guides on wikipedia. I'm going to remove the last three pages of every new novel she buys, as a clever new torture.

Worse was Battlestar: Galactica's "coming up in this episode" thing - but at least it didn't have any dialogue and the music told you when you could look back at the TV again.

I don't normally watch the teaser for the next episode, but we watched it yesterday afternoon and I had the boy on my lap, and after he'd paused and rewound it twice I had to hide the remote from him, and hence also myself.

I really hope carl dies. Or his parents. The lack of parenting is driving me mad. No-one has an eye on him whatsoever, and in such a dangerous environment they should be keeping an eye on him 24/7 not letting him run around as he wants. Urgh!
