I can't remember which, but either the bbc website or Delia Smith have a recipe for toad in the hole that I and my housemate made a few months ago. It was surprisingly tasty, and is on one of their websites. I am Delia-Smith-neutral (though leaning slightly towards thinking she's one of those chefs who don't live in the same food dimension as most normal humans. Goose fat? Why the fuck would I have goose fat?), but it was a pleasant surprise and cheap to cook.

Jumping on the Nigella Lawson 'who can be arsed with this cooking nonsense' bandwagon, her last series was made mostly of things like: 'Now I'm going to teach you how to make a tasty fragrant tomato soup. All you need for this is a can of Heinz soup. Open the tin and microwave it'. No-one will ever know. Sprinkle a bit of basil on the top and you are a culinary guru. I half expected to see her twiddling her nipple in front of the camera before gorging on a whole suckling pig by the light of the open fridge door whilst wearing a silk nightie at 2am.
