I've bought my son a few of the figures and they are ok, sometimes the hands\hats\hair can be a pain to fit but that's it
Was thinking of getting Jabba's sail barge from them as you can't get that from Lego anymore unless you pay "collectors" rates.

If you look for 05132 on the sites, that's the copy of the new Millenium Falcon. Its £176.00 from pretty much all sellers though.

It's actually pretty amazing value for the number of pieces and minifigures you get. No room for it though... I just love building them, the more pieces, the better. I loved Technic for that reason - the really big kits with loads of gears and stuff in. Now I'm all about the buildings though.
I've built 5 sets, probably with the same (or very slightly more) number of pieces in total as the big Millennium Falcon, and they've cost me about £100 or so more in total.
This is getting interesting.
Ordered the Lepin Red Five. I did think about the Falcon but it's just too bloody big. I'd enjoy building it but then I've got no idea where I'd actually put it.

How good is the Lepin stuff, quality wise?
I've not put my hands on any yet, but this article suggested it was good, but not as good. There are manufacturing defects you'd hardly ever see with Lego, but none was game-changing.

I didn’t find the article snobby, so much. The guy must have some kind of background in injection moulding plastics to know so many technical details, so I think he’s actively looking and finding flaws that others would shrug ‘oh well’ at, but which he is examining in such a way that makes him seem like he’s looking down his nose at every component. I think, though, for a Lego fan site it’s surprisingly more balanced than maybe expected, especially silly as the author would be walking a fine line because it was always going to upset some people and there’d be pressure not to be seen to endorse the Off-brand.

I quite enjoyed reading that article. Our oldest has just got into Lego in a big way, which is great. This Christmas I spent hours building the batmobile and some Ninjago airship thing.
Lady T also bought a big box of cheapo bricks (not Lego, but '100% compatible' according to the box). Ouch, that stuff has really sharp edges and is ridiculously hard to separate, even with a tool from the genuine Lego set.

I think I linked that article earlier, or at least read it. I agree he wasn't snobby, just genuinely pointing out the differences. I have a lot to do with injection moulding both through work and hobbies so it's kind of interesting to me:)

Same for me, I've bought a lot of the figures from China, they are fine and nice and cheap.
Also, Lego doesn't really do figures outside of sets, you can use Brick Link or similar, but if what you want is "rare" you pay a bomb for it. If you're prepared to wait for delivery the figures are 50-60p each from China.
For Christmas, I bought him all genuine retired sites from Ebay, got them 2nd hand but complete with a box, was very surprised how well packaged they were. I got Palpatine's Arrest (or the Emperors Office as he calls it) and the Emperors shuttle.
Recently I've bought some none Lego bricks, around 4KG of 2X4 and 2X8 blocks, these are great as they are encouraging him to use his imagination and we do things together.
Not got any Chinese Lego sets as yet, probably will get Jabba's sail barge, not until Easter though he has enough Lego for now!

They have some sets for kids and the like, but they also have a brick pick n mix station where you pay fir a tub and fill it with whichever bricks you fancy. They also sell base plates very cheaply, all great for imaginative building Ng or if you want to build a structure to mount things on in a frame, for example.
