It worked fine after you left. We had an eight player Versus game until 6am.

There should be a zombie zoo level too, or theme park (with obligatory route through the ghost house - that would be ACEBEST)

I should work for Valve.

I'd fucking love to see a zombie giraffe, that would be one of the best things ever.

Also, headset appears to be fine today. I've got a spare somewhere anyway so I'll look that out incase it's an intermittent fault. This game is bloody hard without being able to yelp down a mic when something bad happens.

Highlight of last night was me deid watching you trying to scramble onto the helichopper past the tank who was also in the helichopper. Then he turned round and belted you off the roof, so unfair but so awesome.

Communication is vital for success, still enjoyed it last night though.

There were a few times where we got tank-belted on the top of the hospital and ended up hanging off ledges, trouble is when you try to haul each other up you get swamped by the normo zombies.

Top fun though, it really is.

Just received this from the Goozex person. Brand new and shrink wrapped. Has it been on offer for really cheap somewhere?

I doubt it, we'd have noticed. Unwanted gift or accidental duplicate copy, perhaps?

Well, it's worth £37 on Goozex, so buying it for £25 and then flogging it on there makes good business sense.

L4D ProTip: don't play 3v3 Versus against Cloud/myp/Dimmers with a team made up of yourself and two rookies with less than one hour of game time. Because not only will you get whipped, but the miserable bastards will ignore repeated plaintative "return to lobby?" votes.

Ach, they won't beat us so easily if at all next time - I didn't really grokk the game until we'd almost finished and I was tired and drunk. Without really understanding the concept of the zombie characters attributes we never got a chance to try any tactics and by the time it started making sense it was 1.30am and I was knackered - also my mic was playing up. Still, I completely pwned Myp on the last game ;)

Played through No Mercy single player campaign this afternoon. Gave up at the rooftop after being Tank Belted 5 FUCKING TIMES off the roof. Why won't the AI survivors cover you when you're on the mini gun?

Still love it though.

Me either. I've got about ten games I'd rather play single player at the moment (well, Fallout 3, but that's ten times better than most other games).

I played single player to learn the zombie and weapon locations... I couldn't get off the sofa to change disks tbh (still feel like shit today)

I have Friday night free for PEW PEW this week. Please be available.

Apart from the main weapon caches, they're all randomly spawned.

I shall book Friday.

How have you not noticed that? I do think they are always on the white tables though. Dimrill probably knows, he seems to have figured out a lot of stuff like the places where a tank can possibly spawn.

Does anyone prefer the pipe bombs over the molotovs when there's a choice?

They seem to take forever to detonate, meaning the horde have ran over it before it goes off.

Depends. If you've got a rush, and particularly at the end of campaign defense section, pipe bombs are brilliant for calming down one part of the surrounding area and giving you a little breathing room. The fact that the horde actually swarm towards the pipe bombs means you're guaranteed a good kill count.

If you're defending a small area and the horde can only come at you through a narrow entrance, the molotovs are brilliant because they burn much longer and effectively block the entrance. Also usually means boomers won't survive to reach you either.

Pipe bombs are excellent when you've been vommed on by a Boomer as well. They distract the rush.

I've never noticed them swarm towards the pipe bombs tbh, just lobbed them and been puzzled by the long pause before the boom shacka lacka.

The whole time it's beeping, almost every zombie in the vincinty will mob it, and they'll all die when it goes off. You can easily get 20-30 kills from that if it's during a crescendo.
