He did, however, release quite possibly one of the worst compilation CDs ever.

Enjoy!

What the hell is wrong with you?

Old and curmudgeonly. Like I said, it's just a personal opinion.

And then ... I look at that video and ask myself, 'Is it so different from Vic Reeves Big Night Out?' which was something I liked. And then AGAIN I think, 'but Vic and Bob were funny and made it appear deliberately haphazard,' whereas Trevor and Simon .... were not to my taste.
Weren’t Yrevor & Simon mostly kids TV when you were decidedly not a kid though, Warhead?
Yes, that’s true, but my kids were kids during that period so I was occasionally subjected to this duo.

Can't agree more.
Wasn't Dom a world class magician before he ended up as a twee kids TV twat?
Pundabaya wrote:

He was on something the other day saying he was chucked out of the magic circle. There was also the Steven someone from ITV that was a magician kid’s tv presenter, and I think he utilised more of the magicians act in his presenting. I don’t know if he’s still on tv.
A bit off topic, but can anyone remember the name of the characters that Andi Oeters and some young lad took on, on Going Live or Live & Kickjng? Usually filmed outside Broadcasting House, he and this lad wore long sheepskin coats or Macs and were like cockney dodgy traders. A bit Dell’boy-ish. I wonderecwhat that lad was doing now as he was so young that for some reason I occasionally remember him and wonder if he is still on TV.

Mulhurn/hern?
Stephen Mulhern. He spent a lot of time presenting with Holly Willoughby. He presents Catchphrase now.
And Britain’s Got More Talent.

Does it, though?
I remember Trevor and Simon being funny, but I did wonder if part of that was because as a kid, everything seemed great (nostalgia, eh).

I was going to watch some videos of Trevor and Simon on youtube to see if my young self was a fool (or my memory corrupted), but ended up watching Dick and Dom playing that 'bogies' shouting game instead. Crass, yes, stupid too, but really really funny.
Dearly me. Prof. Heinz Wolff. Everything a scientist should be, as well as being German, which always gives a little extra gravitas.
Oh :( I like him.
That's sad, I remember buying their first album on CD when it was brand new and being mesmerised by how gorgeous it was. Also, I quite fancied Dolores herself.

Maybe she'll come back as a Zombie.
Who had Hearthly in the 'make obvious zombie joke' sweepstake?

EDIT - Not great, giphy.

All of us probably. Although technically Grim… did it first.
Oh yes, I didn't realise that smiley was called zombie. Bloody Grim.... eh, always making the obvious jokes.

Anyway such humour is clearly wasted on the masses, a colleague in work didn't even know they'd done a song called 'Zombie' and just accused me of picking 'some random obscure song' to make a 'shit joke', and I'm like 'It got to Number 1 you fuckbag, although you were probably too busy listening to Crosby & Nash to notice'.

Gaz wasn't impressed either

Indeed, it's probably the only song I know by them. It's certainly the only song I know is by then.

Is it possible to have a posse with just two people? I guess so!
It's an austerity posse.

Either your colleague is an hipster by pretending he doesn't know one of the most famous pop-rock songs of the 90's, or he's mixing The Cranberries with some other band.

Australian Number 1.

The point is that it was a big song by a band who were really popular at the time and to say I was choosing some 'random obscure song' is bollocks as fuck.
I'd not heard it until it got remixed, I don't think.
Linger is a better song than Zombie

Quite, I was really surprised that they hadn't even had a top 10 hit single, they were so ubiquitous through my university years, I guess there were a lot of people like me, who just bought the albums...

I remember the video for Zombie being played loads on MTV and The Box.
Not a major celebrity, but certainly many on here will have heard of him - Bob Wakelin. So many game covers brightened up with his artwork.

Ste Pickford paid tribute to him on Faceballs this morning. (I've had him as a friend for years due to something related to Naked War I can't remember the specific details of. I am pleased to report that he seems to be a genuinely decent chap, as you'd want your 8-bit heroes to be.)

(My Facebook profile pic is the hand-drawn portrait of me that Ste did for my Naked War plaque (signed by both of them!), which the Pickfords sent me for being the second player in the world to reach the rank of Field Marshall in Naked War.)

Ursula K le Guin. Haven’t read all her work, but what I have, I’ve enjoyed a lot. She was always delightful in interviews as well. Even if you haven’t read her work there’s a chance you may have seen a manga or anime film inspired by it.

That's very very sad. I absolutely loved "The Left Hand of Darkness" and "The Dispossessed". Probably my second favourite sci-fi writer after PKD. She also seemed like a great person. :'(
Gutted. Not seen The Fall in years but always just assumed that I would again some day.
Shame to see him go, but by all accounts he really wasn't the nicest chap at all.

Some great music left behind though.

I had their track 'Blindness' on Chopley's Awesome Playlist up until a couple of weeks ago (where he was clearly so pissed for the recording he couldn't pronounce 'cavalry' and took about three shots at the word), changed it to their cover of 'Lost in Music' when it appeared on my 'Discover Weekly' list on Spotify.

He would be a guest on Radcliffe and Maconie's Radio 6 show from time to time, always smashed out of his head and invariably dropping the f-bomb at 3pm in the afternoon at some point, so they'd have to profusely apologise afterwards.
