HAHAHA.

Seriously, I'd love any booze right now. I'm writing a pretend application form.

I'm watching The Secret Millionaire, and the guy has volunteered for some youth work. There's currently a cocky little ginger* kid is throwing the guy's advice and tutoring back in his face entirely because he drives a shit car (downgraded to a Nissan Sunny for the purpose of the show.) It's hilarious.

*this is definitely relevant.

I've never watched that show just because I'm so cynical that the concept appals me. From what I understand it just seems to be a massively rich person being filmed going around a flicking a few crumbs the way of some poor people in order to feel wonderful.

I was cynical like that to start with, but I've seen the 'millionaire*' on more than one occasion get genuinely emotionally involved in the charity projects in the area. But mostly I watch it to see that there are some other, really nice non-rich people in the world, helping people without asking for anything in return; struggling from day to day to improve others' lives.

You do usually find the millionaire has a completely different attitude from the start of the show to the end.

Can anyone help me identify an old arcade game that I played once years ago?

It was a top down walking about beat em up (Like Gauntlet) and you played the role of a heavy metal type dude with a guitar. You swung the guitar to beat up the bad guys…. Who might have been mummies in the first level, or they might not. I can’t remember.

I think the intro scene saw the band actually playing a song but again, my mind might be playing tricks with me and I might be thinking of Chuck Rock.

Anyone got any ideas?

Yeah my missus has said similar but I'm stubborn and also just use it as an excuse to toddle off upstairs and play on the PC for a bit.

I very rarely watch TV on the TV itself. Non-OnDemand stuff is too inconvenient for me most of the time, so I just use iPlayer/4oD etc.

edit: I can also do other things while I watch them if I do it on my computer, so I don't feel like my time is wasted so much.

I have a shitty attention span due to Things, so I can't commit to sitting down and watching something at [x] o'clock. On demand is great.

I use Sky+ a lot, so I hardly watch a TV program when it is on, as the adverts annoy me..

I would do terrible, terrible things for one.

However I read somewhere that, at this stage, if you're one of today's lucky 100,000 people you don't get any further invites you can use. You can nominate people to receive invites, but they are not guaranteed to be accepted.

So, I'll be doing some recording onto my PC in a few days.
Does anyone know the name of the PC program that turns a digital camera into a web-cam?

Umm, I think only a few digital cameras do that and they provide their own drivers and that? I could be wrong though.

If you've got a camcorder with a firewire port and firewire on your PC, that should just work, it does on the mac anyway.

Yeah, camcorders, soz. There's a handy program I used for this.

Hmm, that's for camcorders, which I agree will work (even if you need 3rd party software to do so on the PC).

You said digital cameras :p

There are lots of rules about what you're allowed to film - especially if it's a) off your property and b) drunk polish men.

Again I'd suggest the superb SecuritySpy for OS X, if you've got an old mac kicking about.

But ISTR that you don't :(

I've got two, but a USB camcorder.
Actually, I think it does FireWire. I'll dig one out and have a look. Is SecuritySpy free?

I think I might follow this, as suggested by Doccy G.

I'd have thought that would be admissable evidence, but La Revanche would be your man for confirmation there.

It would be bloody typical if you weren't allowed to use it where you don't have big signs saying "CCTV IN OPERATION!", mind.

Do any London-ites know of anywhere awesome to go out for drinks and food of a late afternoon/evening anywhere near St James's Park?

St James's Park is good for a kip if you're struggling for somewhere to sleep.

So I've heard.
