I have two new tv crushes today. Number 1 is obviously the new duchess, but the second is Adele (on Graham norton tonight) she is hilarious and such a good voice singing live...

I got drunk on Old Rosie once. That's the really high percentage stuff? Oddly, it was at the same place as I will be at tomorrow, and I'll probably drink it again.
As I said last year, Rosie is a lot of fun during the night, but a bitch to wake up with the next morning.

Old Rosie is brilliant. Chewie bits in every glass, like someone's crumbled an apple pie into it.

I can't stand her any more, as yet again her songs are over-played shite. But she is a fairly pretty looking chub.

A combination of Old Rosie, chilli, home made quiche and absinthe churned up in a Dimrill's stomach & then deposited via his mouth on my stairs make for an interesting, and apparently ever lasting stain.

Delivery guy left my back gate open. Who the fuck leaves a back gate open with three dogs in the garden. What is there even to indicate that I even use my back door as a front door when I have dogs? The utter sod didn't even have the balls to tell me what had happened. So yes one of them got out and yes I just had to grab BBFs son and get him to mind the kids while I went round our whole estate and the walking field screaming "Jonty!!" He came running up to me after 20 mins of this looking smug, I know the fucker must have heard me the first time I went out he just waited for me to get back on our road before sauntering back.

Certainly. I checked her first album out after being impressed by one of her TV interviews. And I liked it, until I couldn't move without someone, somewhere playing one of her songs. And don't get me started on Hometown being used as the generic sad contemplation music on every fucking TV show around.

I keep having heart palpitations today. Every now and then my heart thumps so solid a beat I feel like it's about to burst out of my chest, Alien-style.

Naturally, being a bloke, I'm now worried this means I have bum cancer or something.

Right, this week was pretty easy to catch up on, B&B-wise. For those of you without Twitter, I was in Barcelona, and it was awesome. I'd done the touristy things on past, day trip, visits, so just used it as a really awesome city this time. Lots of walking around the streets (each block seemed to get nicer than the last!), finding excellent little cafes and patisseries (or pastelerías, I guess - some very Amelie), and generally loving the place.

As I went with someone who speaks no Spanish outside 'cerveza por favor', I found that my grasp of the language increased to the point where I could hold very basic conversations. I got involved with Catalan separatist celebrations after El Clasico (though it'd have been a cheat had I actually chanted 'viva la raza! Viva Catalunya!', as I'm Iranian). Loads of stuff. Really want a Spanish girlfriend, too, so someone sort that please.

Really thinking about moving there, should I get decent enough at Spanish to actually get a job. Outsmarted a pickpocket, too.

Amiga is the female equivalent of Amigo.

ie a female friend.

Spent the evening letting a 12 year old play on some of my older gaming kit.

Supercars on the Amiga went down very well as did Krustys Fun House also on the Amiga.

Lotus 2 didn't go down well due to the lack of racing and the control over the car being poor.

Super Street Fighter 2 on the Megadrive was a flop. Hard to work out the moves and again the control over the player feels poor so I'm told.

Space Harrier on MAME was a huge hit which included me demoing the CPC version to show the gulf between home and arcade.

Outrun didn't go down well and neither did Rainbow Islands or R-Type. Pang was regarded as OK but nothing more.

Knowledge that Nicole Kidman was in BMX Bandits managed to save myself from the shot of Drambuie forfeit in the game we were playing last night, and MrsA, who was banking on my not knowing that is now in bed with a terrible hangover. Awesome game it was.

Damn, if only I'd thought of that when I was in libraries. We could have made about ten of those with the spare piles of shite our suppliers sent us (whoever had the genius idea of signing away our ability to choose our own stock was a fucking moron who probably gets paid more than everyone here combined. But anyway).

Conversely, we were in London, more precisely Camden, to visit the gf's brother, his wife, and their newborn. Lovely place, too. One afternoon we went to a Waitrose and I was extremely impressed with the quality of the foods there, especially the meats. The variation in and quality of the restaurants was amazing. We had a lovely supper in a tiny little vietnamese restaurant. I could well imagine living around there. We also visited Hampstead Heath, and it, too, was lovely.

"Pastisseria" in Catalan.

Yes... except I forgot how to return to places I aimlessly arrived at previously. So Amelie cafe and impressive (but closed) comic shop became like things from Lost - they turn up once, and are never seen again.

That would make it even worse once I do get found out. Best to nod appreciatively, and keep schtum, when that lot are going nuts.

Besides, my melon gets sufficiently twisted at tortilla/truita...

If you've been before, avoid La Rambla. If you haven't, do it once (and check out Cafe De L'Opera halfway down on the left) and move on. Things get way more interesting when you move laterally from there - El Born and MACBA areas are too cool. I'm a big fan of uptown, too.

Actually I was being a bit sarcastic. Work conference that I don't want to go on, over the weekend. Free time is at an absolute minimum.

Been a couple of times before on day trips. Never been to the sagrada familiar, never even seen it, so I've booked my flight early in the for a quick run over Saturday afternoon. Thats probably it for tourism (although may be able to break away on Saturday night if some other young people wish to- seems unlikely though)

My daughter had to do an easter diary and was told she had to fill 8 A5 sheets of paper or she wouldn't get any "team points". The diray they gave her has jesus and a cross on it. I thought this was a tad unfair given the circumstances.

If it was wrong to print off 8 photographs I took during the holidays in A5 and stick them in with a note saying "we are Jewish - mummy" I don't want to be right.

You will do your homework or you get no pudding, unless I think it's a bullshit assignment in which case I will fake it for you.

Working on big forum article on the Alabama tornadoes. Meanwhile, on Weather Underground's comments page (the best extreme weather site out there) this:

Quote:
Quoting emcf30:

OH BOY

Charlie Sheen coming to Tuscaloosa today

Published: Monday, May 2, 2011 at 6:32 a.m.
Last Modified: Monday, May 2, 2011 at 6:32 a.m.

Wayward sitcom star Charlie Sheen is coming to Tuscaloosa today to tour the tornado ravaged city.

Sheen confirmed his plans in a post on Twitter. "Alabama; Heading your way. On a recon mission. My Cadre right behind me. You need help. I'm bringing it. DogSpeed."

A Sheen fan first Tweeted, "Tuscaloosa get excited the warlock himself @charliesheen is coming to pay respects to our glorious town tomorrow." Sheen replied, "Thanks."

The Tuscaloosa News has confirmed Sheen's planned visit independently, but no itinerary of his visit has been released.

I heard that when the news of Sheen's visit was announced to Tuscaloosans, they groaned and asked whether they could just have another tornado instead.

Levees are looking very vulnerable on the Mississippi due to record breaking flood heights. Might wake up to some bad, bad, bad flooding tomorrow. Meanwhile more tornadoes are expected for Nashville and other counties in the coming 24 hours. Across several states things are shaping up mean again. I cannot remember there being a worst week for weather for the US.

Rather glad to be back at work after those 11 days off. Next time I have that much time off, I need to make sure I have a life first.

Also, Happy Birthday Klatrymadon!

Back at work now too, but what's that?

Oh, it's only another 3 day working week as I've booked Friday off for my birthday! :metul:

I think I might book Friday off too. Baby was supposed to be here yesterday to save me from going back to work. Unimpressed. :(
